This is great. I am one game away from knowing if I will be heading to the 1-AA championship (Southern Illinois University) on the 14th and then to see FAU in New Orleans on the 21st. It is going to be one hell of a month.

I hear ya man, I can't believe we're going to a bowl.

I was on my phone outside of Duffy's right after the game booking my flight, I'll be there on Thursday evening! Southwest is pretty cheap, $100 each way.

I plan on locking things in this week. Thursday thru Sunday is the plan.

Okay…So we have been going to JazzFest and French Quarter Fest for years and have stayed at quite a few hotels in the area.  Just want to throw this out as some GREAT hotels for the event and the rates are great for that weekend.

Country Inn & Suites at 315 magazine is a GREAT hotel that is just a block outside the quarter in the business district.  They have rates from $71-$89 for those dates.  If you have to be in the quarter then I would suggest you check out the Omni Royal Orleans at 621 St. Louis.  Great location not too close to bourbon and the rooms/service are very nice.  Also, the Omni has a cool pool bar on the roof that overlooks the quarter.  It looks like they have an $89 rate for a single queen room for those dates.  Check them both out on TripAdvisor and you will see what I am talking about.


Also…I've created a great map of the quarter, business district and uptown that shows the locations of bars/resturants that I use during fest for aftershows and dining.  Send me a message and I will be glad to email you a PDF…If you can print on 11x17 it would be best but you can print on legal and get most of it.  Cheers
