What happened to the $75 Sheraton deal? I don't see it.
I tried my Starwood and Amex deals and couldn't do any better than $99, but I will get an upgrade at checkin.

I just purchased two tickets to the NOB. I will be unable to make the trip so FAU will be donating my tickets to some youth in N.O. as part of the "send a kid to the game" program they have. FAU was given 5000+ tickets and need to sell as many as possible. Hopefully ALL. So even though I can't go I wanted to help with the ticket sales.
Any other fans and Alumni that can't make the game should consider doing this.

What sucks about the SGA trip is that they might use the lottery system to pick which students are going, instead of taking the first 112 who show up with money in hand to go. What's the point? If you do not get chosen, then your screwed when it comes to making last-minute arrangements to go bowlin'. That's not beneficial to anyone…
What do you guys think?

I'm part of the prOWLers and we are still planning the bus trip with the SGA. I had read in Tim Hutton's blog on Sun-Sentinel.com that SGA is NOT paying for lodging. So, instead of taking a long, butt-numbing, bus ride, I am flying in. I got a pretty decent deal, $230 for round trip from Cheaptickets.com and I paid only $118 (including taxes, local fees) for my hotel. That's not bad since my room is only $51 per night, I'm 6 blocks from the 'Dome and 1 block from the French Quarter. I'll need my sleep, too, which is why I opted not to stay at the team hotel. I also got a rental car with the deal! But, I still did not get my Bowl tickets since I am waiting on what other details are coming out.

First to give me money always win, period. What happens when 25% of them don't come up with the money, then they start all over? Makes NO SENSE.

Well, it wouldn't make sense to bus up 112 people without having somewhere for them to stay.
Here's the latest update on that from the Facebook group on it
This is an UPDATED TENTATIVE PROPOSAL for the trip and what it would include:
Trip Available to 112 Students (Through first come first serve system: For instance, the 1st 112 students in line at a certain time will be given the chance to sign up for the trip)
- 2 night hotel stay (4 people to a room; roommate requests will be allowed if those individuals are one of the 112 people on the trip)
- Bus Transportation
- Game Ticket
We would:
- Leave FAU on Thursday 12/20 2 a.m. (Leaving at this time would allow us to arrive in New Orleans at aprox 3 p.m. central time; giving us enough time to travel, check-in at hotel, and attend the Fan Festival that starts at 5:30 p.m central time)
- Depart back to FAU on Saturday 12/22 at 12 noon (Arrive back at FAU at aprox 3 a.m. est. time)
*** The trip would cost (aprox) $86.00 which would be required when you sign up
*** A $86.00 deposit would also be required (on top of the cost of the trip) at time of sign up (you would get this $86.00 deposit back when you get on board the bus departing to New Orleans)
*** You must be a current enrolled FAU Student and have no holds, etc.
