Add topic

Which is most when selecting an opponent for the opening of the stadium?

Trying to guarantee a win on opening day
Getting an opponent that travels well
Getting an in-state opponent
Getting an opponent from a BCS conference with national name recognition

You must select between 1 and 32 options

Opponent to Open the Stadium

Lots of talk about who FAU should try to select as an opponent for the 2011 opening of the stadium. Time to poll it up.

GO OWLS!!!

Re: Opponent to Open the Stadium

Bottom line, we need butts in those seats that day. The inaugural stadium photo will be used in marketing for years to come, let's not have a half empty stadium.

The largest crowd in FAU history was 25,632 at Pro Player Stadium. Since then attendance has been down, with our average attendance last season sitting around 15,300.

We need an opponent that will draw fans. We need 30,000 people in those seats.

Re: Opponent to Open the Stadium

Wake Forest, Kansas, Houston, etc....any of these mid level BCS conference teams would be a good opponent to open the stadium with....FAMU would be the ideal team to bring in...

Houston is C-USA. Not a BCS school.

Re: Opponent to Open the Stadium

Book FAMU, we get a win-win-win-win situation; probable win, opponent that travels well, in-state opponent and great band! FAMU would be a grand slam!!
