OSU Coach Believes OSU is Underdog?

Now, this commentor on the OSU Forum Board that OGOwl found may be spewing lies but why would someone say this if it didn't have truth to it…?

I would think that our coach would at least think that we'd be expected to win this game against FAU. He says himself that FAU should be favored in the game! What is he talking about? Talk about lowering expectations for our fans. You'd think he'd want some optimism but instead he thinks people should consider us worse than what most people rank as a very poor team in FAU. Maybe he says that it's going to be a challenge and we'll have to play better to win but to say that we should be the underdog to this team is crazy.

My guess as to why the coach would say this is obviously to motivate the OSU team to do better but it still is interesting the OSU fans worrying about it… :o

Also, Gundy was worried about Montana State this past weekend against OSU and now he is more worried about FAU's QB making too many big plays…

For all of you out there that thought the Montana State's quarterback would be "the best we'll see all year" check out today's Tulsa World. Gundy now says the Florida Atlantic qb may be better than Lulay. This type of hyperventilating is nuts. If Gundy would throw in a few "quite honestlys" we'd have Pat Jones all over again. He also expects the Pokes to be in a dogfight this Saturday. Last year we we were in a bowl game, now we get a five point victory against a I-AA team and expect a dogfight against a team ranked around 105th in Div. I. You can say that Gundy is just a poker player and he's fooling everybody. He didn't fool anyone last Saturday.

Interesting chat boards they have… they are worrying. But honestly, I don't think either team should be expecting this win. It probably will be a VERY close dogfight, scraping for every point possible…

Could be that this coach is worried about Embick's ability to make big plays, and showing concerned about his secondary - which will prove to be the difference tonight, especially oif we get the running game going, we only need it to be effective tohight, not great - we need at least 150 yards on the ground and the passing game will take care of the rest.

This could easily be a way for the coach to get his teams attention and not over look the Owls!! That is earned respect, Baby!!

Go Owls!!
