I was told $500, not $5k. but that was just for a season, not for "eternity"

$5k will probably buy you a spot for "eternity" which in FAU terms is 3 years until a new director shows up.

I'm forever on an annual basis with this group now.  ;D

$5k for the spots along the grass (prime tailgating), I think you are right about $500 for the other spots.

Re: Owl Club

Just a quick FYI.  The "points" will come into play only during particular times and they are bowl games and men's or women's basketball championship games due to tickets being regulated by the NCAA.  We're not there yet in any of these sports.

Now, the need for the scholarship fund is to remain a D1A program, FAU must fund a minimum of $4MM in scholarships per year and they just get by, practically on a shoe string.  It's so bad, the FB program cannot pay for players to stay over the summer and monitor the kids behavior.

This program is the same at every major university.  If we want to play with the big boys, we need to step up to the plate and "act as if!"

I have no issue with this and will gladly make two separate donations.

I agree with you…this is the infrastructure that needs to be in place in order to compete at the highest level.  I think the complaints are the poor communication and the constant disrespect the university and athletics tends to show to their most loyal of followers.  Just make sure we feel that we are valued is what most of long time season ticketholders (and donors) want.  If the prior administration was run better…a lot of this stuff would have been implemented prior to the first game in the stadium, but it wasn't so here we are.

While I agree that communication has been an issue, I challenge that many of those that are upset have also not communicated back to athletics.  I have been in constant communication with Daniel Heflin since his second day on the job, how many on here have reached out to him and his staff?

I have spoken with him and I like him.  I think he will be good for program….but the fact of the matter is we are the clients/customers.  They should be reaching out to us, that is being pro-active.  If I have a new service or I am changing the way I do business, I am not waiting for my clients to call when they are worked up and emotional.  I am calling them and explaining any changes that may occur.  They tend to be more understanding and more open to the change.  What we have now is a lot of rumors, which creates un-ease.  No body who has been with the program for a long time as a season ticket holder want to lose any credit they have earned with their ticket purchases and donations made over the years.  Defeats the purpose of the loyalty program.  We want to be remembered that we were there when nobody else was there.

I have spoken with Dan, I have a general idea what is going on, BUT I still don't feel its been explained 100% clearly.  That's a problem.

Re: Owl Club

The loyalty program and the fund are independent of one another.

I'm sure with continuous giving to the OSF, you will be rewarded when we achieve status where the points actually matter.

You are 100% correct here.  I am a die hard and will continue with the program regardless but SigEp is missing the point.  It is FAU's job to reach out to the donor's to keep us engaged and informed of the changes.  Something they have not been very good at in the past and so far it's not looking great going forward either.

Re: Owl Club

The announcement came out and was emailed to ALL alumni in the True Blue newsletter sent out two weeks ago.  Did you read it?  Have you updated your contact information with the university or is that their responsibility also?  Athletics also did a direct mail campaign to all former Owl Club members.

How else should they have communicated?  You both have acknowledged budget shortfalls and lack of funds in other topics, so where will the money come from to communicate outside of email and direct mail?

And I'm not missing the point, I fully understand it.  I'm just not bitching for the sake of bitching which is typical here.  I guess communication is more important than remaining a D1 program.

Whatever buddy, I think everyone on this board knows I am not bitchin just to bitch, it's  a message board which is used to discuss issues.  I have been supporting this school with my butt in the seats and my wallet for many years so I don't need your crap.

Everytime you respond you are a jackass so do me a favor and ignore my posts and I will ignore you from now on.
