OwlBytes: 2019 FAU Football Fall Camp - August 16th

Post

The Owls took the practice fields in uppers only on Friday morning, in a hot but relatively lighter humidity environment compared to the last couple of days.

OwlBytes

  • Taking A Step Forward Head Coach Lane Kiffin said Thursday that he thought the offense looked as crisp as it has been all camp. After a spirited but slightly limited practice today, the team is looking to see if that will translate into a more meaningful showing Saturday, when it will hold its second and final public scrimmage of the Fall Camp cycle.

  • Two-Way Player? Alabama walk-on transfer wide receiver Chris Herring saw action at defensive back today. While it is unclear as to whether his role has officially changed on the roster, it's nonetheless an interesting move at 6-4". Keep an eye on him Saturday.

  • Early Arrival Transfer WR Jordan Brooks-Wess, who was previously with SMU prior to a brief non-playing stint at JUCO, made his way to the Oxley in early fashion. As it previously stood, the 5-8" speedster (4.4 40) was seeking to join the roster at a later date but got the nod to come on down. Forthcoming will be a ruling on whether he is eligible to play right away.

  • Play of The Day Keeping the momentum of wide receiver connection establishment, Chris Robison found John Mitchell in stride for a 40 yard touchdown, at the expense of arguably the Owls' best cover man in that of DB James Pierre.
