He didn't play for us.  Participating in practice doesn't win games against MTSU, Rice and Marshall.  It only takes reps away from someone who might have been able to contribute in a game.

Yes!

I have a shirt, so I am on the team too!

Rick takes the hand-off from Johnson from the forty…cut's back hard and he's to the thirty…breaks a tackle to the twenty…he's going all-the-way! Nothing but open field in site!

Touchdown Owls!

C'mon man!

Mr. President,

If you owned a mid sized company and wanted to grow it to become a large multi-national corporation, would you hire a CEO that had run a large multi-national corporation in the past and knows what it would take to get there or would you go for a CEO that has run a nice regional company for a number of years?

Well both Chun and Partirdge had never previously been AD/HC, so my quesiton to you is: who would you put in charge of a growing company, a CEO of a nice regional company or an assistant manager, with no executive experience, from a large corporation?

I think you have to get over the whole Wright not getting the job thing (BTW, he was 4-0 not 6-0).  For one thing, he's still here!  If Brian Wright can accept that Partridge got the job over him and he still agreed to work for him, that should tell you all you need to know about Partridge.  Move on.

Also, I don't get how you can read about Coach Partridge and not come away impressed.  I have no idea what kind of Head Coach he will be, but a lot of the job is recruiting and from listening to what these high school coaches say about him, he's going to be very successful at bringing in talent to FAU.

You are right about Wright's record. The guy is still the only FAU HC without a loss on his record.

It's funny that Partridge was brought in for recruiting purposes. For the past five or six years, I've been bitching about how bad our recruiting has been. And every year, you all tell me that I'm wrong and that stars don't matter. If I was wrong all those years, then why are you all so excited about this amazing recruiter? Why was recruiting the key factor on Chun's list. Maybe, just maybe, I was on to somehting.

Chun wasn't a nobody…he was the #2 in charge of the THIRD LARGEST Athletic Department (by revenue) in the entire country.

OSU is about $115mm in Athletics Revenue
FAU is about $15mm

I would absolutely take a guy like Chun who has seen it operate on the big stage and knows what it takes to make it work for a team like ours. If you don't think big picture you'll never be big.

The last few years under Pelini, recruiting was a lot better than at the end of Howard's tenure.  Perhaps not where we all want it, but better.  The main problem was that they relied a lot on JUCOs and South Florida recruiting still was pretty dismal under Pelini…and that is where Partridge will make his mark.

And I still think the star system is flawed…but that is besides the point.  I'm just confused about your criticisms of Chun/Partridge.  If you think our recruiting was bad, then you should LOVE Partridge (and Chun for hiring him).  As far as I can tell, your biggest issue with Partridge is that he's not Brian Wright.

Stars are not the issue, the issue is not being able to recruit the region.  While I believe recruting central and north Florida would have been good enough to win our conference…to get to the Boise State/TCU type level we have to be  able to recruit Dade/Broward/Palm Beach.

I mean you have to be happy with the way he has conducted himself and the attitude/ethic he has displayed thus far…

And Brian Wright is still our OC...I mean aside from Vince Lombardi coming back from the dead to co-coach this team I dont know what else could have gone more right.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Better cheers from our cheerleaders?
$1.50 draft beers at the stadium?
Real Stadium nachos?
$2 draft sodas with free refills?

I can think of things that could be more right.
