Carl did make some friends in his first week on board if you remember, it was Delray Atlantic's head coach that said he'd never send a kid to FAU as long as Pelini was there right?

Everyone is pumped Allen is back but what has he done I mean look at our Palm Beach recruiting it is nothing
To gawk at.
I think it is good
For the program that we keep a familiar face but it is not like he has been assistant of the year.

What has he done?

Whether the team was good or not, he was a stepping stone for this team. He brings tradition and culture to the team. You would be hard pressed to find a "football guy" more knowledgable on the school. He can be a recruiting asset if utilized property. Keeping guys like Allen, someone who has been on every level of this team, brings the "family vibe" to the team. Anyone who has spoken to him would say he is just an incredibly likable and respectful guy, exactly what you would look for in someone who represents the team..

Well if coaches decide to steer their kids away from the school because of the head coach, what is he supposed to do?

Hiring a high school coach would be a mistake. There are plenty of great coaches out there without going to the high school level - much better to keep some current assistant coaches than go to the high school coaches.

I think DJ Juste was his get? And Lloyd Bam Howard is a Palm Beach guy who had to go JUCO but he was highly rated too

He hasn't done a lot for recruiting last year, I agree, and I get that you don't care about what he did for this team from 2000-2004 but a lot of people with context hold him in really high regard and it's good for the program to have a historian and someone who actually gives a sh!t. Pelini (who obviously didn't care) screwed him in PBC so let's give him another cycle or two before we determine if he's terrible. The positions he's coached have always performed well under his tutelage.
