Pat Chun's Student Challenge...
I mean its not like we want folks in the stadium an hour before the game.
With the Rats Mouth right by the stadium now I REALLY wish that a 1/2 hour before the game the cannon would be fired in the stadium. Thats the warning shot to start wrapping up. 15 minutes before send another shot and annonce on the loudspeaker that its time to get inside to see the Owls run out.
I DO think a compromise should be made. Allow Tailgating for an hour AFTER the game. Lets people celebrate a win and mourn a loss.
Its REALLY sad to to have the players run into an empty stadium.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

I'm going to step in and defend the undergrads here!
It IS hard to get in by kickoff, virtually impossible for the undergrads if you ask me. None of these guys sit in the Priority/Premier club from what I gather, they're in the student section, which is dry. They are outsite, having beers, talking to women (gents, enjoy that as long as you can, it'll never be better than right now) and hanging with their brothers, it's this great, outdoor party that you can't just walk away from instantly when someone says it's almost 5pm. Hell, I have a hard time getting in for kickoff and I'm a grownass man!! Why? because even though football is fun, so is drinking in a parking lot! and if you are having a particularly good time one day, then you're not going to stop just to go inside.
"other schools" only look better because they have 80,000 of the 101,000 in the stadium for the start, they still have 20,000 stragglers. It's the reason why a lot of programs go through this elaborate opening number for their teams, if you can give us a reason to come in early, I bet more will do so. Dot the I, Rub Howard's Rock, the USC Space Oddessy thing, whatever it is, but if it's cool people will come see it. Last year, our players didn't even want to be there for kickoff, why should we? ;D
It's not a luxury/option at a lot of larger schools it s a privilege…and they treat it as such.
When in Oklahoma for three years, i went to some games…sat in the student section for one of them…….
It was full an hour before the game.
Just sayin!

And I agree we need to have a Inside "Ritual" that people will want to see.
Fireworks,? Cruiseship Horn? Air Raid Siren?
Agreed that we need a pre-game ritual - something for Athletics to work on.
The Owl flying around the stadium is cool but we can do more.

When I was at the Alabama game last week they had a countdown of their accomplishments using players jerseys numbers, they sung sweet home alabama, dixie land delight and the crowd got into it before the players came out.
This is one of the videos they played.
everytime there was a big hit the crowd would go boom!
We should have Howard's voice recorded for an intro.

Have the team run out to Thunderstruck which would be an awesome entrance and eventually the students and other fans alike will want to come inside and sing along and see the awesome intro
My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

I still think we go with AC/DC Thunderstruck. In the very beginning of the song you hear rain falling. What does it do best in SoFla? Rain!

I heard that too last week when they were doing the jersey number accomplishment count down.

Very rare for people to go to a party and a football game breaks out. More common is to go to a football game and a party breaks out. For many the game is merely an excuse/reason to party.
I remember back in the early days in ProPlayer (Dolphin) Stadium when more people would be outside than inside until halftime and many stayed outside the whole game. It is unfortunate, but pretty normal for those who are more interested in partying than watching a game.
GO OWLS!!!
