Re: Payout

Its definitely about the money, especially at a school like FAU where the sutdent athletic fees are so high to counter that lack of that money

Re: Payout

What we get out of reaching this bowl game goes a lot further than any monetary pay out...

Don't kid yourself, it is about the money, just not for the players. For the universities, sponsors, broadcast companies, bowl committees, conferences, and all others it is about the $$$$.

GO OWLS!!!

Each team got $325,000 last year.  Doesn't say if we have to split it with our conference or not after expenses.

You got $325,000…I think it is $750,000 per team.  I found this stat on multiple websites but here is one for reference.  $3/4 Million dollars has to be close to half of our football budget.

Only thing I can think of is if the payout was restructured after 2005.  My numbers were from 2006.  Or it could be a typo.

Re: Payout

Actually, if you click on the "current" link on your link, you will see the payout has changed to $325,000 per team for this season.

Re: Payout

The Sports Business Journal this week has its annual Bowl coverage and reported the NO bowl has $650,000 budgeted for team payouts.  So SigEp is correct, $325,000 per team.
