Per FAU - Ticket Status

Per FAU - Ticket Status

It's set up the same way at USF. Every student pays the athletic fee, but with ~45,000 students and only 12,501 student seats, there's going to be people left out.

Students need to learn that they are not guaranteed football tickets just because they pay athletic fees.

Excuse me?

ummm, then who is PAYING FOR THE GAME?

actually thats about the most UNFAIR thing that exsist in cases such as FAU - where they depnd almost entirely on STUDENT FEES, then try to turn around and act like they have a product to offer the general public that was generated by private monies and or donations - YEAH RIGHT…Oklahoma we ARE NOT…they are completely self funded…as it ought to be…now, of course i am arguing this from the standpoint that they want to go to this game - that is certainly not always the case…

STUDENTS pay for 90% of the athletic budget…so, this goes to reason:

They are charging twice for tickets when there is a student wants to go for the game and is turned away for a "paid" attendee - because the student paid for it in the first place with athletics fees…

Not only that, but they send them to the endzones to wastch the game…another 25 yards away due to the track…

GROSS.

There should not be one student turned down for this game - period.

Can I get a Ha-rumph! Ha-rumph!!!

And a Here-here!!!!

And an Amen to that!!!!

Preach it Brotha!!!!!

I'm with ya on that!!!!!

Exactly.  It is impossible to guarantee a ticket to every student that pays an athletic fee.  The best you can do is hold an allotment based on what demand is for the tickets.  I'm sure that FAU is holding most or all of the student endzone, which is approximately 6,000 tickets.  If that turns out to be too few tickets..that's a good problem.  BUT if anyone gets turned away, it is the fault of the students.  FAU can only go based on past demand.  If they want more tickets alloted for the students, more students have to attend the games.

In that case FAU should not automatically bill each student for tickets! They should do what UF does, and give students the ability to purchase tickets, rather than forcing each student to buy tickets to every athletic event. I know why we have things setup the way we do (and I fully support athletics - we wouldn't have football without it), but  it's absolutely wrong to turn away a student (or anyone else that paid) and still charge them for it.

It's a ridiculous situation… athletics profits from student apathy. It should be the opposite.

Re: Per FAU - Ticket Status

FAU students don't get tickets, so there is nothing to camp out for.

Now, if FAU had a certain amount of tickets to distribute and did that on campus, that would be fair. But to expect students to come and perhaps not be admitted is not fair.

My guess is that any student with an I.D. to scan will get in and just mght have to squeeze in somewhere. That will make the atmosphere even better.

Oh, i get it…tis the use it or lose it mentality…

Well, if that is the case, then they want it now:

SO GIVE IT TO THEM.

Who wouldnt rather have fired up screaming students in the stands than a bunch of "let's go check out the ranked team that is playing that college in Boca" folks who don't cheer, shout, or even fart during the whole game and just take up space…….

Sure is a lot of griping about something that isn't (and hasn't ever been) an issue yet. I mean realistically, don't you think we should hold off on the student riots until after someone gets turned away for tickets?

your first comment bucks rhetoric…i made that clear in my initial post:

"now, of course i am arguing this from the standpoint that they want to go to this game - that is certainly not always the case…"

on your second comment, respectfully this is taking place, although on a small scale at this point…
