Wow…someone put a lot of work into this and is pulling out all the stops for Coach Wright and staff.

I believe a search needs to be done but unless there is an obvious possible name out there that we just can't pass up and can afford I would have to say I am in the Coach Wright corner.

GO OWLS!

Coach Wright is absolutely the guy that should get the FAU Head Coaching job.  Wright rallied the troops just two days before playing bowl bound Tulane and FAU humiliated them with over 350 yard of total offense & a score of 34 - 17.  Under coach Wright this has been the most productive offense at FAU since 2007.   If we lose coach Wright we also lose assistant head coach Jeff Sims who is arguably the most connected coach to the JUCO players in the country. Without Coach Wright and Coach Sims leadership and JUCO connections, the following players would not be OWL's:

#1   Lucky Whitehead    Starting WR
#2   Brandin Bryant        Starting  DL
#4   Adarias Glanton      Starting  LB
#7   Melvin German        Starting  WR
#8   Daniel Mckenny      Starting  WR
#12 Quez Johnson         Starting  QB
#26 Jeremy Mcnight       Starting  FS
#27 Jonathan Wallace   Starting  RB
#58 Mustafa Johnson     Starting  C
#80 Darian Howard        Starting  TE

If coach Wright leaves, so does Offensive Coordinator & O- Line Coach, Luke Meadows, RB coach Kerry Dixon, Defensive Coordinator Jovan Dewitt, DB Coach Ross Watkins, D Line Coach Matt Edwards, Strength and Conditioning Coach Chuck Lobe and TE Coach and FAU Hall of Fame alumni Jared Allen.

Lets keep this talented and committed group of coaches and their families here at FAU!
Go Owls!

I am ready to fully support Coach W and the staff as they have done an incredible job not just keeping this team togeter and focused after the Pelini incident after the uburn game. But also winning and DOMINATING all four games! The team is much more EXCITING to watch and THAT WILL SELL TICKETS as well as winning!
THe continuity of keeping the existing staff at this CRITICAL

Wright has done a good job filling in under extenuating circumstances.  But everyone wants to hand him the job before seeing who the other candidates are.  Wright may be the way to go, but let's see what's behind door #3 first.

He's the only candidate we will know for sure….so he will get the most support from the fans (because lets be honest most fans, me included, don't spend hours and hours researching all the backgrounds of candidates).  I am rooting for him not to give it to him, but because after Chun does his search he determines he is the best guy to SUCEED and not because he won 4 games and got us bowl eligibile or that he may be the cheapest to obtain.  I know the 4 wins were against weak teams, but it could have easily crumbled after that debacle…

Reality = On the national stage we are a joke…    The fact is no big name coach and/or coordinator with high prospects will want to come here…  We will be shopping the 2nd tier coordinator ranks.

Furthermore, what is up with people bashing Wright because he beat teams "We should have beat"?!?!  Wake up nimrods, we have been losing to teams we should have beat for going on 5 years…

I wonder what planet some of yall have been living on because I've been watching FAU Football and any coach that puts together 4 straight wins at our program after the stuff that happened this season deserves respect…

As with our players, we have to rely on "diamonds in the rough" to break out.

I have a feeling we may have found a coaching "diamond in the rough" with Wright…

We need to pull the trigger on Wright because I can tell you one thing… We are not the only people in the world who have taken notice of what he has managed to do.

If we him-haw for too long we may lose him to another school….   Wright has shown he can win…  Sure we can roll the dice on some 2nd tier big school coordinator, which will bring in a new program or we can go with the guy who has won 4 straight games (something we haven't done in years!), maintaining our current system and continuing to build.

For me this is a no brainer… The players like him, he has shown he can win with our program and he is available at the price point FAU can afford…

"Reality = on the national stage we are a joke…   One of the worst football programs in the nation since 2008…"

Very true.  This statement is EXACTLY why any coach worth his salt and with half a brain would want the HC job at FAU.  There is no reason FAU should be a joke, the program is primed to no longer be a joke.

Whomever is at the helm when this program rises to USF, UCF levels (which it will) will basically write thier own ticket.

Brand new stadium, brand new conference, most fertile recruiting grounds in the country arguably all at a campus a mile from the beach…the things we dont have, attendance and tradition (and I guess cheaper nachos), you dont need to win in CUSA.  You dont.

This program is at the perfect point to make a name for somebody and I'd have to imagine a lot of coaches out there recognize that.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

I really haven't seen a lot of disrespect of what Wright has accomplished the last 4 games…he's my choice, but if Chun hired him without doing a search and interviewing other people I would have a problem with that.  I don't want this to affect recruiting so I want it done as soon as possible.  Chun has said he wants the hire done by 12/8 so that means this week.  I do not think that is hemming and hawing.

Good points and I agree, we could/should be a great program…

But in the here and now we are not, also we cannot offer the $$$ needed to bring in a Tier I coach…

There is a reason the names we have heard pop up on the "coaching search" have been coordinators with somewhat suspect records…

As I said, we can roll the dice on another coordinator or we can go with the guy who has already shown he can win.
