Re: Plans for Road Games

I'm going to the Texas game.  My wife is a longhorn so I hope we show up big and she's the one pouting on the way home.  Do you have to be season ticket holders to get tickets through FAU?

No, just call the sales office. The number is on the FAU athletics website. They would be very happy to sell you a couple of tickets.

As a matter of fact, when any of the alumni/fans not living in south FL call for tickets, consider donating some money to "send a kid to the game". Those tickets are cheap and FAU will bring underprivileged kids to the home games.

Actually, when my renewals came FAU said they'd be contacting us when the tickets were on sale.

Re: Plans for Road Games

Well, not necessarily the same thing, but I am going to try and hit up all the home games this year, to me they are away games.  And already putting the NO Bowl on my calender, so if we make it I will be there for that.

Hey, lads!  For those of you going to Michigan State, you will not be disappointed.  I've been to every school in the Big Ten and MSU easily has the best game day atmosphere, the best tailgate, and the best looking girls.  The campus is the biggest and most beautiful in the country, and the bar scene is fantastic.

I recommend getting up here a day or two early and taking in a Tigers game and checking out what Michigan State and East Lansing have to offer.  As for tailgating, I've provided a website that shows the various parking lots:

http://www.homefootball.msu.edu/

Tailgating used to begin on Friday and cars would be lined up for miles, but criminal activity led the University to make some changes and they have instituted a new policy that only allows you to tailgate during certain times.  You'll have to copy and paste the link to find the information.  Students tailgate near the tennis courts, so avoid that area if you do not want to face hostile idiots.

For those of you looking at flying, make sure you check the prices for Grand Rapids, Flint and Detroit, in addition to Lansing Capital City Airport.  East Lansing is very close to all of them and you may be able to find a good deal (unlikely).  Most, if not all, of the hotels in EL sell out a year before the game, but you should be able to find vacancy in neighboring Lansing or the other suburbs.

The Spartans finally have a good coach and a consistent football team.  Our skilled positions are good, our defense sucks, and our oline is untested.  We're likely to go 7-5.  How do the Owls look?

I'm going to go watch Keith, but I'll answer any questions you have.

Welcome to the board Sparty.

I have been to Michigan State for games in the past and what you say is true. It is a great atmosphere.

FAU is favored to win the Sunbelt this year. We return 17 starters including the Sunbelt Conference Player of the Year QB Rusty Smith who threw for 3600+ yards, 32 TDs, and 9 ints. The run game has been a bit suspect, but bringing back an experienced O-line and lots of depth at RB should pay dividends. On defense FAU is fast. We lose a few key guys, but should be able to make up for the losses with athletic ability.

I like FAU's chances against MSU. It should be a fairly high scoring game that could be decided by whoever has the ball last.

Once again, welcome aboard.

GO OWLS!!!
