This means, that the all time record between FAU and FIU is 4-0…because FIU's losses to FAU in 2003 and 2004 were also 'vacated'. This is so, on FIU's part.
Good point…4-0 sounds accurate given this…
Be interested to see how FAU lists it forthcoming…

However, looking at FAU's Game Notes for the Shula Bowl, you will find that FAU's Athletics Department themselves list this series as 5-1 in favor of FAU. So, unless FAU's Official Game Notes are incorrect….your record is 6-1 against FIU. The 52-6 game is counted in YOUR books.

It seems to me FAU already did make that decision, if they ever had to: (6-1). BTW, found out every other school in FIU's schedule (not just FAU) is reporting the records including the game results from 2003, 2004, and 2005. Could be a coincidence, but I doubt it. It appears the NCAA 'ordered' FIU to vacate those game results. That order has not affected any the adversaries' records during those years, according to their Game notes, and I assume, their Media Guides as well. In other words, every team in FIU's schedule, including FAU, did not "vacate" those games against FIU.

BTW Alex, I don't think FAU has regressed at all…but as Illinoisowl mentioned, I don't think it matters much what anybody thinks…here or there, or in any other message board, for that matter. It's just opinions by diehard fans like us, which tend to be passionate and are, by definition, very subjective and many a times make those statements not based on facts, but on pure emotion. Last night game, we can all agree, was full of emotions. Opinions are just opinions. Yes, FAU had a worse record than last year. However, is that the only indicator of how a program is headed? I don't think so. Hardly….your program is still growing, and it's impossible, in my opinion to say that. I believe the closeness of this year's game is more due to FIU's rapid progress than to any other reason.
