Postgame thoughts on the Minnesota game...
Can ANYONE tell me WHY the hell we went twice on 4th and Long? Both of those times it resulted in a pick. PUNT the damn ball.
Rusty was picked a lot today because the recievers were not catching anything, so he forced more "perfect" types of throws instead of feeling natural.
Guys and gals, I watched some of the TROY game, they gave OSU everything until the 4th. (I didnt see that, I was deep in the bottle at that point), MTSU is playing well as is stAte.
Confrence schedule is by no means a lock.
If we cant get this "fixed" in 10 days, were in trouble.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

On ESPN Gameday this morning, they were talking about the Michigan State/Notre Dame game, while referencing Ringer's 282 yards last week. I think it was Herbstreit who said, "I know it was just FAU, but…"
Can someone please see if this "NCAA Football Authority" has cashed his appearance check for the date at the Oxley yet please?

I just don't agree with people wanting to change coaches or make wholesale changes before we have played a game in our conference.
Respectfully, i dont either to the first, but the latter i think we really need to loook at.
The offensive scheme is good half the time, then bad the other half.
Too many draws with a small line like ours…WAY too many…it gets one yard if that 85% of the time.
I didnt see the no huddle one time today…thats a joke. Thats what beat them last year…
Spread the damn field out and do what it takes to win…
Let's Hope they are saving all of thier "wrinkles" for conference games, but im telling you that unless we make some drastic changes in D performance we are going to lose MINIMUM 2 conference games…our offense is not enough to carry us at this point like it did last year…NO WAY.

My only hope is that the team is prepared for the MUTS, b/c they will be ready for us. We can still will the belt and the OCC games are not even a concern to me anymore. I think of it this way: if last year went the same way except that we lost to MINN I would definietly consider last year just as successful as it really was. The Belt is where its at now, and thats what everyone should be concerned with.

One thing that is important to mention is that Minnesota has a very talented team. They have done some serious recruiting and last year was truly a transition year for them. That does not excuse the poor performance of FAU. I just think we need to realize that Minnesota has more talent than FAU as do virtually all BCS teams. For FAU to win against BCS teams they need to execute. So far FAU is having problems executing and at the end of the day it comes down to the players. With 18 starters returning and a wealth of experience these guys should know the drill and they should be able to play smarter than what they have shown so far.
I have been part of this since day 1 and I realize that teams go through ups and downs. I have confidence that the coaching staff and the players will get things going in the right direction in order to having a winning record by seasons end.

Re: Postgame thoughts on the Minnesota game...
I think that this being a young program, we still have a bunch of guys that haven't been in these type of situations that much and are learning as they go and the mistakes they are making reflect that.
Once we get to conference play, the same mistakes aren't as costly and are more easily overcomed.
One big difference from last year, the play calling put Rusty in a position to manage the game better. Rusty was able to manage the game and move the chain. This year we are relying on the BIG play to much and the receivers are not helping with so many drops.
And if I remember correctly, the receivers had the same problem early in the season & found their grove during conference play. Of course we lost 5 receivers at the beginning of the season so the slow start was to be expected - this year, not sure what the reason is.
I think the fans are suffering from the same hype the players where at the beginning of the season and these are good signs, it shows that the teams is moving forward as more is expected now we just have to put all the pieces of the puzzle together.

My guess is that there's no faith in Leroy, because those fourth-and-whatevers were in MN territory, if I recall correctly, and the "long" came on penalites at least once. He's got no leg and is about as accurate as a blunderbus. Can't even depend on a FG consistently. Lord have mercy…

The team will have a lot of work to do in the next week. I am still optimistic that we will do fine in conference play. ???

I saw that too. It was Chris Fowler, the guy that sits on the far left on the panel of announcers. I made it a point to notice who said that because I was going to post it but forgot to. Anyway it wasn't Herbstreit.
