ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, I did hear the announcers mention that the line was blocking well. Even picking up the blitz. Did anyone see the game? Did Rusty have enough time? It sounded like it.
That is the frustrating thing….we aren't losing these games because we can't compete physically. Our main problems are mental mistakes.

I would call WR dropping easy catches a physical mistake.

Look at the bright side… at least Exit39 didn't have to endure this game since he jumped off the wagon last week. ;)
I don't know what was more painful to watch… the Michigan State game or the Minnesota game…

Not me…dropping a pass that hits your hands is a lack of concentration.

Hey everyone, if you think you're pissed, go take a look at the FSU Rivals board tonight. I think they're gonna burn the city down.
WOW. You're right.
I watched some of that game. Once again, FSU has great defensive players… although they sure rack up penalties, don't they? At one point the announcer said, "Florida State has given up more yards in penalties than has gained on the ground." Ouch.
They'd still kill us if we played them though.
I think pretty much everyone in Florida, save for UF fans, are kicking themselves tonight. USF for scoring so little. FIU for keeping it a close game and losing during their stadium debut. Us for being torched by Minnesota 37-3. UCF for being manhandled 34-7 by Boston College.
Just not a good night for anyone who isn't living in Gainesville, I imagine.

Bottom line is we are all disappointed. In the past Howard said the team wasn't very good and they weren't so no expectations, no disappointments. This year, different story. I've been and accountant/corporate controller for many years. If I forecast the company is going to make a $1MIL and then we end up loosing money, there would be some pissed off execs and bankers. Maybe the players got caught up in the hype. Howard said before the season started he was afraid of complacency after the bowl win. It looks like it happened. If anything, the team SHOULD look more polished this year. They don't. The radio announcers said more than once that it looked like Minnesota was playing at a different speed than FAU (faster).
The funny thing about these OOC games is back in the early days, FAU played better on the road than at home.

Re: Postgame thoughts on the Minnesota game...
On offense, we lost Paris, we lost Jarrid Smith who was a leader, thats why Rusty always had his line out there during press conferences, because he knew they were the ones leading the offense, and Gent was quietly making catches, not talked about as the go-to guy (which was Harmon, who also was leading by example and not being loud). I think we should just get our 1st and 2nd strings on full rotation for RB and WR…if you drop a pass sit and let the guy behind you try, if you run for 1 yd, sit and let the guy behind you try.
Regarding other games in the State:
FIU was able to make huge stops in the redzone…I could hardly believe it, and for them this is a huge moral victory
Miami is a GOOD team, they should be ranked, they have so much talent at RB and WR, two Mr. Floridas at QB, and Defense that is not afraid to blitz every play.
FSU..it was too late for me to watch but it seems like they should have done alot better at home
UF.. is good, Tennessee is bad, I just hope one of the other studs in the SEC can stop UF
UCF..well they got outplayed by BC
USF.. alot like us, EXCEPT they win games, thats how they got respect, they took their non-BCS recruits and won against BCS teams…we need to do the same
