Pre-Season Predictions

Good news is that OSU lost their all-world running back.

Bad news is that they have others waiting in the wings. This is a team that plays in probably the most physical run conference in the country and they continually have good backs. Expect them to run, run, and run some more against FAU. It is going to be a brand of power football like nothing we have seen thus far. For that reason I worry about the size and strength of our players. We are making huge strides but this team will really test us. GO OWLS!!!

By the way, their running back Vernand Morency is from Miami. To bad he headed to the NFL. He would have brought some fans to the game. GO OWLS!!!

Pre-Season Predictions

The Oklahoma State game at Pro Player is NOT definite. They will be looking at the Orange Bowl as well. Seems they want to examine all options, compare pricing and intangibles. For example, new vs. old, baseball infield vs. full grass, North Miami vs. downtown Miami. There is a lot to consider. Do you think the "aura" of the historic Orange Bowl would be enough to overcome the perception of a less nice facility and a little farther drive and limited parking?

I'm not sure if it would but I'd hate to have the guys play on that dirt infield!!

Pre-Season Predictions

The dirt field is a bit of a problem. However, I think it is better to play at the Pro as opposed to the Orange Bowl. At least the Pro isn't the home stadium of another D-1 program. Is the Orange Bowl owned by the University or by the City of Miami?

Pre-Season Predictions

The OSU game will without a doubt be the biggest game in FAU's short history. A good showing by FAU would do wonders for future recruiting and attendance. If it is a nationally televised game on ESPN it would also do a great deal for promoting the program. Any chance of getting the Louisville game moved to Thursday night on ESPN? I know they like to show up and coming teams during the week. Last year ESPN had games on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday throughout the season. That would be a huge boost for the team. GO OWLS!!!

Pre-Season Predictions

It seems like Louisville play a lot on TV games that where on Thursdays last year (I can remember of at least three) -

Playing in The Orange Bowl would be like having a mystic type feeling - the traditions. Think of the promotions, Coach will have a chance to coach on the same field which he brought the Canes first National title, plus the players could experience a feeling like no other when you have a chance to play on a field that so much history.

I believe the Orange Bowl if owned by the City.

Does it really matter where we play?
