That all being said, considering recent rulings by the NCAA, I'm sure this will be the next step for the Power 5.

Hosting Bethune, Stetson, Jacksonville or Ave Maria (in a few years) would put some people in the stands two weeks before the season kicked off. Keep it informal. No special teams, coaches on the field, etc.

Interesting thought. The NCAA would have to remove restrictions around how much time the coaches can spend with the players. My concern would be more towards injuries in the preseason affecting the outcome of a conference title and bowl bids.

I think if it's going to happen, it would have to be FBS vs. FCS (which wouldn't be a bad thing).

I agree and if it was going to happen that be the way to do it, but so many schools now are starting camps around the end of july and beginning of August, and I know after a while many players hate hitting each other and go against other opponents but that is my opinion.
