I checked on the paydays for the Kansas and Louisville games. Kansas is paying us $400,000 and Louisville is paying us $250,000. We also get $50,000 for each conference road game. That brings up the question, how much are we paying OSU to come down to play us?

I say, based on our financial info we should schedule another big payout. GO OWLS!!!

I've been attempting to put out this fire on a few boards. It's nothing new folks. Just that it's more into the limelight now that fundraising and budget meetings topics are in season. Like I said on another board, the Trustees have to react in a way which shows concern. Most knew this going into last season we'd be in deep for the SHORT run.

CanadianOwl,thanks for the I SPY info on Jimmy Olson. ;D
I'll drop him a line also. Tenn huh? Maybe he's a MTSU fan :o

Owlcoholic, Don't worry about poofing of the cartoon. I like it.

Owlcholic I love it..lol.... Just sent my message to him.... maybe it was written to see how much response he would get to see what kind of fan base there is..... regardless he did alot of bashing without much support. he neglected UM which was also a commuter school until 1983 when schnelly work his magic and won their first title.... but I guess since UM only has 7,000 activly enrolled students thats not a real university either?

I sent him my email as well.

Be sure to let any fau football fans know about the article and to send him a response. This guy is a dissappointment to the community, he should embrace his now hometown college football team!

With 500 dorm students, FAU was a "commuter school" when I was there in 1985-87. Hell I don't even know what half the buildings are on campus due to all the growth. The tuition increse had nothing to do with football back in 2001. My 7th grade daughter does better research on things she does for school than this guy does for his job. May he get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome on the hand he calls "sweety" lol ;D

I GOT A RESPONSE… READ BELOW….

Thanks for your e-mail. I hope you'll consider a letter to the editor expressing your point of view on the team.
Actually, I think our paper's position on football has been realistic from the start. We have been skeptical. Overall, we are very supportive of FAU, especially in calling for more money and tuition flexibility. We noted last year that as FAU was trying to build football, the very successful baseball team was in need of money. Division I football is a big reach, and we think it is a reach too far for FAU.

Mr. Schultz,

As an alumni of FAU and Boca Raton resident, I was very disappointed in your negative article regarding FAU football.

The FAU football program was started from scratch and has made significant progress to date. It has impacted many, if not all, of the students at FAU and in this area, and many people have worked themselves to the bone to bring this program where it is today and set its sights on the future. I believe that FAU football has a great future and can become a great success as more Div 1 teams are played, especially at home.

I think the local community would appreciate it more if you were more positive or at least realistic with your articles.

Sincerely,

Robert Seneca, M.S.
