Then the Sports Writers need to talk to the Editorial goofs and tell them to back off. your right Hutton is a sports writer and threw out some negative stuff at least the Post guys have'nt done that give credit where credit is due at least for now.

I like the PB-posts sports page. It normally suports the owls more then the sun-sentinal's ted hutton. I dont subscribe to the PBP so I cant boycot it, o-well. I still dont think it is there place as a outsider to scruitinze FAU's athletic program.. They probably have never gone to a game and there not paying the tuition to continue the program… They were out off line in publishing that artical.

My approach will have to be a little different. I fully support the website's effort to let Schultz know about our stance on his thoughts about FAU. However, we get a lot of info from the 2 papers in that area. The PB Post and the Sentinel. An occassional Miami Herald article and Boca Raton News may have something on FAU.

I'll show my support of displeasure by attaching a tag line or something that's anti-Schultz;

Hope you guys don't think I'm bailing out here. Just trying to keep info flowing for this growing website.

My guess is that he's referring to some type of government funds if needed. Jeb has been known to step in and make his presence known when state schools aren't functioning as he felt it should. FAMU went through something a few years ago when Jeb stepped in made changes and choices.

Little does he remember that our current Prez came from Tally as Jeb's right hane man.. ;D

It's been great reading everyone's opionion. I don't think I'll boycott the pbpost because I believe this will be water under the bridge eventually. how can you expect a new football program to be a financial success story only six years after starting. I think everything takes time. Maybe they did skew the financial numbers to get the program going, but every company/program tells a few white lies to get things going. I think we need to support PBPost in the future, because anytime the FAU name is mentioned in the paper, a new fan could read it and decide on going to a football game, thus increasing our attendence.
I think FAU is great for the communtiy, it really would be full of old farts if the school wasnt here. Also good point on on UCF playing big time schools and collecting money. I was at UCF the first 4 years of when they joined 1-A, from 97-01. We played Nebraska, Ole Miss, Miss State, UF, UGA, Auburn twice, Clemson, Arizona State, Syracuse, Penn State twice, Virginia Tech twice, Arkansas, West Virginiaand alabama, sll on the road, just to name a few. The school has made millions from from these games. Each game would pay in the range of 300,000-900,000 dollars. They only won one of those games but they so much exposure, bought national attention to the program, and also paid off debts. I think with FAU moving up to 1-A, the years to come will be full of these games and help pay off the debt. As a 1-AA team it would be impossible to get any of these schools scheduled. Thats why the move to 1a was good financially.

This guy is like a cancer, I am telling you now he has it out for FAU, period. He or WE will use what ever it takes to keep this on a front burner including stiring it in Tally Town.

We understand O.G. you need to do what you must, but the rest do not and I hope won't.

I agree that we must show our displeasure with the Editoral writers, editers and whoever is associated with the Post's editorial section, but in the same instant we must be carefull to go to far - we will only fuel their passion to discredit FAU at any given chance given in the future. These people have agendas and are usually pretty motivated by them and are sometime irrational in their behavior and will do anything to further their cause.

Again he wants you (us) to respond with a letter to the editor, to further his cause, again if you do I commend you to use caution in your wording - there is a way to get your point of displeasure across without coming out looking like a renegade, which is part of his directive.
Say what you must based on facts that will discredit the remarks he made and turn the table on him, this would help show how uninformed and misguided his voice and opinions are. I would recomend as well to show retrain in belittle him - use what he said to accomplish this, this has far greater results and doesn't make you look like the attacker - again he wants a certain type of reaction from FAU supportors.

These type of writers I usually don't pay much attention to or their opinions, yet there are times that do warrant a response.

I have enjoy the Post for there sports section, actually this is just about the only section other then the Accent section I read, for the comics of course ;D I find the rest to bias to really give it any weight.

There is no question the guy is a putzs - if you think that all your hate mail will do anything, I seriously doubt it, they protect themselve (they wacth each others backs believe me).

Boycotting will do very little to sway these guys from backing-off - they will continue to bash FAU for any reasons. I just re-read the article and it's rather amusing how they convenientely brings back tiny bits of dirt of things that happen long ago and that have been retified in one form of the other. I would normally have no second thoughts about what these guy print because they aren't worth the ink their own paper is being printed on, but I may just have the fortitude to put something together to confront this little idiot and put him in his place.
