I don't know about a current player who went that route. That's good if he did his job and is now in the school.

It's also pretty wrong that students such as those who received improved GPA's from University High are getting scholarship money that should probably go to a student who perhaps has less talent, but who actually has the academic background to pull off collegiate classes and actually gain something from the education he would receive while playing ball.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here for a second…If you all think that FAU doesn't give their football players a slightly easier route when it comes to academics then I'll have what you're having! Of course there will always be professors that are against providing leeway for the athletes but there are plenty of other professors that support and understand the kind of work that is involved for these special students. Throughout my far too long tenure at FAU I took every "joke" class FAU had to offer and in every one of those classes I was surrounded by athletes. I've walked into classes where it was just me, the baseball team and a bunch of student teachers. I'm not suggesting that athletes are not capable of succeeding in the harder classes but they certainly have a trend of showing up in the easy ones during the season. Theres nothing wrong with that, they have a lot on their plate, its the same reason why I did it every fall, its party season. But someone out there is helping the players with their "schedule maitenence", they know which profs are the ones in the stands on Saturdays. It happens everywhere.

True TeamBeeer, it does happen everywhere. Athletes are catered to by teachers and coaches. This story is about getting false grades to get into college. The athletes you were surrounded by in your classes probably got into FAU by a legit high school and not from the University High scam which gives out false made-up grades. Once the legit students are in school I believe that they should have all the academic assistance they need to graduate.

Ok as brilliant as I am I don't have a perfect memory. The player is Cergile Sincere. Since this was an article in the paper I feel comfortable giving this info. He didn't go to a JC but he did not have grades high enough to get a scholarship. You can read the Article.

If the link gets cut off I will copy and past the whole story.

That is also why a lot of players redshirt their freshmen year. To get the grades up to par.
"Cerg" and a few others walked on at FAU after getting their grades up. That's a good way to do it.
