Roadside Adversting

Roadside Adversting

I saw the one northbound I-95 by West Palm that was mentioned earlier. I also caught one southbound I-95 right before Commercial. Both billboards were the same.

It has the "Salute The Hoot" logo and the stadium. I believe it says something about FAU 2012 Football with the FAU Sports website link down below.

So that's 3 we've counted so far. That's a good start.

I have mentioned about maybe having marketing, advertising, and graphic art students produce some of the commercials for a discounted price. It gives them real world experience, as well as doing something for the university. Produce some commercials for tv…

Even if you can produce them on the cheap, my understanding is that TV commercials are incredibly expensive to air.

That said, I'm sure if FAU did have hundreds of thousands to throw around on TV commercials during prime times when people would actually see them, the university branding/marketing departments would probably insist on making an incredibly slick, professional commercial that represents the university well. While the UPTV students might be able to put together a decent video, I think FAU'd be pretty cautious about wagering hundreds of thousands of dollars on student work.

Re: Roadside Adversting

I'm sure our new AD is helping institute an ad campaign for a strong final push to sell seats before opening day.

Maybe our new AD will change that.  ;D

Maybe he'll also change behavior like the fact that they spent significant time, effort, and coin branding a term only to see someone else buy the URL for it…

How can you be asleep at the wheel like that??

At least it is owned by long time Nest Member FAUOwl, so there is some consolidation!

Not a bad looking billboard! I think I would have included the season opener date myself though. Thanks for posting the link and thanks for the pic post too!

Hopefully FAUOwl makes some money off of selling that badboy :) do it fast if they offer, before they change their mind!

Speaking of asleep behind the wheel, when Netflix seperated their streaming and mail services the mail services division name was changed and launched as Qwickster…no one checked to see if that twitter handle was available and they launched, all kinds of people began following @quickster right away only to learn that is was some 19 year old pothead kid that only tweeted about video games and smoking.

LOL, "Asleep At The Wheel" seems to be a recurrent theme here.

How about an "Asleep At The Wheel" billboard? :D
