Rusty's Performance This Year

Rusty's Performance This Year

Last year was an awesome year for Rusty. This year he started off injured and it took a while for him to get back to last years form. If you look at the stats, this year was as compared to last was not what we expected.

What was the major difference between the two years? I tend to think that Sean Clayton had something to do with his performance. Im not sold on VanCamp and Kooi providing the same competition in practice that Clayton did. We need to recruit a QB that will provide some competition for the starting role. Im not to familiar with our young QB's and what they can do.

Major difference was the OOC games vs. BCS schools.  Texas, Mich State, Minn total =1 Touchdown Pass.  If he is going to be a big time QB he better play better vs. South Carolina and Nebraska next year.

Nice job trying to give Sean Clayton props, I dont think him mom could have spun the web you did.

Re: Rusty's Performance This Year

Let's add the yardage/TD's that would have resulted from all the dropped balls, then reevaluate Rusty's year.  I'm not saying it's solely the blame of the receivers, but come on…does the amount of dropped passes not stand out this year?

Re: Rusty's Performance This Year

Its ok to admit it...Rusty caved in a bit under all the hype....should be incentive for him to come out strong and play himself into a day 1 draft pick next year

VanCamp can't get it together in actual games but provides plenty of competition in practice.

Kooi is yet to be determined. I would not be surprised if he's our second string guy next year.

Re: Rusty's Performance This Year

Injuries didn't help his situation and coach turned the heat up just before the injuries. That was like hitting a lion with a stick in a cage and somebody forgot to lock the cage door. The one game we should not have lost Muts. Damn grab the guy take the penalty odds are in your favor of him not coming through.

I didn't think to much about next year until the Nord deal now these kids are going to have to step it up a couple of notch's.
