Sounds like the school lost a class act, its sad......unfotunatly growing up and playing sports all my life in Florida....it is hard to handle long practices in the heat outside....No one ever wants to see this......best wishes...

Terrible to loose a young athelete at any level.

Wow, that's awful.

Usually with these sorts of situations it's a heart issue that the pre-training physical should have picked up on.

Brain, lungs, heart. The autopsy results are going to involve a problem in one of those three areas.

Uh yeah, usually that's what happens when people die. One of the three stop working.  ::)

My condolences to the Plancher family. So young to be taken.

I just heard on the news up here that the initial autopsy was unable to determine the cause of death.

Uh yeah, usually that's what happens when people die. One of the three stop working.  ::)

Yes, eventually, but I'm talking about pointed effects… like left ventricular hypertrophy… things that are directly involving those organs as opposed to, well, you bled to death so your brain didn't get enough oxygen.

It sounds like that heart defect.  Somewhere along the lines of having an enlarged heart.  There was an article about it in SI a few months back (I think it had Favre on the cover).  Very sad and scary.
