Schnellenberger, a Dolphins assistant coach during the 1972 Perfect Season who subsequently led the Hurricanes to their first national championship and started the football program at FAU, will receive a Dolphins "Lifetime  Achievement Award" on Dec. 11 (vs. Philadelphia).

"Obviously I'm flattered and very touched," said Schnellenberger, who will retire as FAU coach after this season. "It means the six-game losing streak that we're in needs to get straightened out in a hurry or maybe this will be revoked."
