they used to make you by two game packages… FSU and a tune up game, like FAMUsmittysahoot said
Miami used to do this vs. FSU.

That is a little more reasonable.

Instead of just relying on visitor's to make their own arrangements, take control of the situation to ensure the dollars are being spent in Boca.
Start helping local businesses make some money and before you know it, we will have much more support in the area.
Call me crazy.

I think the city of Boca Raton should buy a large block of season tickets on the visitor side, and package that with hotels and restaurants and car rentals, etc., to bring much needed dollars to the city from out of towners.

I'm sure the Boca Raton tax payers would loooooooooooooove this idea.

Bring in Tax dollars from out-of-towners and create all kinds of benefits to the residents and local businesses.
Isn't that the job of a City?

I think we'll be fine though. We win the next two games, and we will start selling more. Not sure how the advertising is going there, but they probably need to step it up. Have people handing out flyers at the dolphins games in the parking lots. I also think we will get a lot of casual fans from around town IF (a big if) the price is right.
I'll use myself as an example: I hate baseball, its long, its boring, and there's way too many games. But I live 15-20 minutes from Tropicana Field and I can buy Rays tickets for as low as $12 from the box office anytime. Translation = I go to 2-3 games a year, to see a sport I could really care less about, but it's cheap and fun. I'm hoping we can get the same thing with local residents.

I don't think that Boca needs to buy any tickets. It sounds like a great plan, but like team beer said, I don't think the public really wants their tax dollars spent on what could be empty seats. I know I don't and I don't even live there.
How about we all get a little creative?
FAU sets aside a block of tickets for the City. If the city sells them with packages, it works for them. If they don't, FAU can sell them to anyone that wants them. FAU would benefit by creating business for local businesses.
If we sell out every game, no one cares about being creative. We are NOT going to sell out every game so we need to come up with ways to benefit local businesses, and residents so they see the value to having the stadium and begin to support it over time.
