Personally, I like the idea of having students pick up tickets in advance. It would cut down on the student line at the game and give a good indication of just how many FAU students will be at the game in advance.
That's how it's done at schools like UF. The students line up early Thursday morning on a first-come, first-served basis. They should eliminate the need for students to line up for tix on game days. Just make more sense to have tickets in hand before going down to the stadium.

If it sells out and students get turned away that is going to be both bad and good. It will most likely mean that those students who are turned away will not return for future games at Lockhart. On the flip side, it will also add an exclamation point to the fact that FAU needs an on-campus stadium and soon.
GO OWLS!!!
Keep in mind that students are billed for tickets in their tuition fees. Since students have already paid for their tickets, they would need to be compensated if their seat is sold to someone else.
What about other events such as baseball and basketball that only hold a couple of thousand fans?? The student body includes 10 times the number of people as the baseball stadium holds. It is first come, first serve period, no matter the sport.
GO OWLS!!!

Especially when it's in Ft.Lauderdale/Miami.
On-campus is a different story.

As an FAU student and a seriously dedicated fan to football if they even try and say that i'm not allowed in they will have some serious issues on their hands. FAU was supposed to send all students actual tickets in the mail however they still have yet to come, so we use our owl cards to get in. I've heard that FAU is no longer selling tickets to the game and that if you need tickets the only way to get them is through ticketmaster or any other tickets selling company.
I'm sure that if you get to the game on time you won't have any problem. Maybe this will help ensure that people are actually in their seats for the players entering the stadium and kickoff!

They are still selling tickets to the game because I just got back from the ticket office and bought 3 extra tickets. I already have season tickets but convinced 3 more people to come and experience owls football. I do believe there a lot of seats that are going to be filled. When I was there a guy called up and said he had tickets in whatever section and he needed 1 more ticket and the girl helping me looked up his section and said nope no more.
I don't think students will have a problem getting in. Like everyone else said when you get there try and get a ticket or go to the ticket office and see if you can pick up a ticket so your assured of getting in. I doubt they're going to fill up the student section with USF fans. I wouldn't worry I bet all the students will be able to get in.
They are also available on ticketmaster.com if you live out of state or you work all day so you can't get to the ticket office.
My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Yeah OUR students get in their seats 60 mins before kickoff to ensure they have a lower bowl seat. At USF if you are late then to the upperdeck you go.

At UF students enter into a lottery for the right to buy season tickets. If they win they can buy them for about $40 a season (at least when I was there). It's a very lucrative venture for students. However, any student that did not spend $40 is not billed for the tickets anyways. At FAU we charge *every* student for tickets to every sporting event. The students have already paid. It would be ridiculous to turn them away, but keep their money.
