Of course Troy is head and shoulders above the rest of the SBC in the SI Power Rankings. Unfortunately they don't mean anything. I really don't think that Troy is that much better than most of the other SBC teams. For my money their isn't a single SBC team that stands far above the rest. Lets wait until season's end and then see how things play out.
GO OWLS!!!
I agree. I have watched them play us, MTSU, and FIU and IMO, Troy was much more impressive last season. That doesn't mean they won't win the SBC, as they have been good enough so far and put themselves in a good position. However, last year, the talent gap between Troy and most other SBC teams was more evident. This year, they aren't "out-classing" anyone (other then UNT and Alcorn St.). They are a good team, but nowhere close to a ranked team. They are also down to their 3rd string QB and have other injuries, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
Agreed. Troy's offensive key players are relatively inexperienced and we have new CBs, LBs, DTs, etc. In addition, Troy has several key injuries: Hampton (QB), Mainor (DE), Franks (Center), and Jernigan (WR). This is a minor rebuilding year for Troy…
Btw, Levin Brown is our 2nd string QB; he won the starting job over Tanner Jones two weeks ago.

Why did he start the last game?
