FIU averaged over 15,000 last season.  FAU and Louisiana were the only two in the Sun Belt who did not.  I found that information out from the NCAA's website.

You guys said so yourselves.  You've got an attendance issue.  One of your fans even said in this thread that 11,000 appears to be the norm.  I would hope that FAU could meet the requirement.  It would hurt the entire league if they couldn't.

Fine.  I'll stay off your board.  When your school receives it's notice of noncompliance, then I guess you'll be made aware of the attendance woes that your school apparently suffers from.  Judging from many on here, you guys aren't even aware that the NCAA is keeping their eyes on your last two home game's attendances.  Heck, you even got one guy here that didn't even know the NCAA still has an attendance requirement.

1.  i never said stay off the board….that was someone else…i simply asked why you come on the board…although you are "hiding" behind "trying to help", something appears out of kilt with your true intention…and if all you want to do is try and stir the pot consistently, then why bother coming on here?? no one wants to be a part of that obviously…

Questioning my posting this information on your board.  It wasn't the first time you've asked why I was posting on an FAU board.  Maybe it has to do with the fact that FAU is a Sun Belt school and my school is also a Sun Belt school?  Maybe?  You think?  I think so.  Wouldn't it make sense?

Now regarding that comment, FAU probably has a few wealthy donors who will likely buy a few thousand tickets.  In which there wouldn't be a problem because then you could count the tickets bought as PAID attendance which would meet the requirement.  I want to see it happen first.

Everyone there Saturday needs to bring a couple of friends to the ULM game. They need to be convinced to give back to FAU and have a good time in the process.

It's so easy to be a fan of the big schools, or a bandwagon fan (ask most of the USF people). At FAU, the fans need to invest in the program with their time, emotions and money. The reward will be that much sweeter.

It's Homecoming. That should be a draw enough. Plus, alumni need to come back (or, come to Lockhart) and bring friends and former students who live near them or with whom they keep in contact. Former students (even before football) need to be convinced, dragged, browbeaten into showing up and experiencing the fun.

All the student organizations should be organized into committing to come to the remaining games. Prizes for attendance could be offered.

Tickets need to be distributed again in easy-to-obtain places. There should be some contests for spirit with decent prizes. Radio remotes should be organized/sponsored, signs should flood the campus and places north like West Palm Beach.

FAU should have a staff person be in charge of game promotions and student involvement.

The odd thing about the attendance issue is that some schools fudged the attendance numbers. I think we all know FIU did not draw anywhere close to the amount of people it reported last year. But it got away with not falling below the 15k minimum. FAU, however, has always been pretty accurate, if not low, on its reporting and could be penalized.

In reality, though, FAU drew way more fans last year (and this year) than FIU.

Some 'Belt schols play "home" games away from home, and even in other states! That sure defeats the purpose of the attendance rule.

exactly…and this is due to how they count those tickets…we are much more conservative - as to not allow any room for backlash…
