So far I am thrilled with Coach Pelini's hires, recuriting efforts, and personality with the media.
Agreed, so far he is talkng the talk and walking the walk. I like what I'm seeing.

Here's one that was done right after CP was hired.
ERROR: A link was posted here (url) but it appears to be a broken link.
Hiring Grade for Pelini
I prefer the A- grade from Coaches By The Numbers . I think they should do these things following the 1st season after the hire. I mean, how can you grade a hire when the coach hasn't coached a single game yet.
It is silly. I do disagree with the coachbythenumbers article on one point though. It calls FAU is a "tough job". That couldn't be more wrong. FAU pre-stadium was a tough job. Now with the new stadium and the area we reside in, if you can coach and put in the proper recruiting effort, I think it will be very easy to win here.

The pitch now has to be staying close to home and having your family watch you play all the time. To get a kid to go to Nebraska all you really have to say is "Hi, Im from Nebraska and we'd like you to come play for us."
FAU certainly does not have the resources that Nebraka did. But Coach also spent time in the MAC so he knows how it is.
The stadium is a HUGE asset to be sure.
Weve given the new coach a .357 magnum in the recruiting world arsenal, and we have to hope he knows how to pull it out and use it.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

If he is given 3years this Owls we compete for the belt. In 5 years the owls will compete with anyone in the country.
Next year will still be tuff, but you will see improvement. This will be so much fun to watch. This program is already moving in the right direction. If you look at it I think most will agree.

Compared to recrutiting for Nebraska I think it could be considered a "tough" job.

Not 1 357 Magnum………You forget the new DC……great recruiter.

I am sure they did extensive research before coming up with this grade.
I doubt they did any more research than any of us on this forum did.

The sporting news? I would not put any faith in this. I am putting faith in my knowledge of the staff so far and the people on this board. Look at the threads on this board. You guys said "Hope Coach P will bring in a few JC guys". That is just what happened. You all also wanted good recruiters in general who can both recruit Florida and National. Surprise we have got that. You said bring in a disciplinarian. You got it. I am seeing that the line is getting upgraded with bigger guys able to compete on a size level.

I know they were moving around vendors to see what stuck… what did they offer for the final game? Same as the first, only with Mississippi Sweets instead of Chick-fil-a?
