The football team kicked off its third Wednesday of the Spring practice slate today under partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions at the Oxley Center fields.

Efforts focused on individual work, inside drills, 7-on-7, and blitz packages; while the end of the session featured goal line situationals that saw the offense make a number of spirited scores including a Jeff Van Camp connection to Willie Floyd.

Coach Schnellenberger broke out the roster and made some comments after a brief appearance at Labor Finder's event taking place in the Founder's Lounge. Didn't quite catch all of it, but the first guy he is commenting on is FB Chris Jackson when he says "Learning fast".  He also had some comments about the defense:





Coach then threw out some of his infamous "lingo" while bringing up a "Blackberry Winter".  I think he meant it to compare to today's climate for the practice session, and almost had it nailed. For those who are not acquainted with the term, as I was not, it refers to the last cold snap you receive before the Summer sets in for good:





The squad will return to the field again on Friday at 3:30 p.m., and Saturday's scrimmage start time was announced as 11:00 a.m.
