Good grief. Why is this league filled with fans who are complete idiots? The game against Troy was not to determine the league champion. It was to determine the New Orleans Bowl representative. Maybe next time we'll just go along and not try to beat Arkansas State. As long as we beat everyone else in the league and Troy, we'll be okay with the league rewarding our mediocrity for sucking against ASU like Troy always does.

Are you the FAU fan that called in to our post-game call in show and called us overrated after we whipped your team's rearend last season?

Any way you slice it, you're still number two. Troy is the champion and as much as you may want it to be otherwise, just about every major football publication calls Troy the conference champions. Face it, they beat you!

Yep, no one is saying you didn't beat us. And no one is saying it won't be a good game this year. We're looking forward to it.

I think we do need to look at the facts and I have to eat a bit of crow myself, because I didn't know at the time that the SBC does indeed support a Co-Champion as many conference does.

Both Troy & MTSU do have a share of the SBC Championship Title, per the SBC Troy & MTSU are Co-Champion and Troy did earn the right to represent the SBC in NO as the SBC Champion.

I for one don't like Co-Champion (for a young conference trying to find an Identity, with limited Bowl exposure, which is slowly changing for the better), but the team did have the same records and who beat who, by what really doesn't matter, the tie-breaker system that is in place needed to be implimented to see who would go to NO to REPRESENT the SBC as it's Champion - it's obvious that you can't send two teams from the same conference to NO so something has to give and the tie breaker system used gave Troy the heads-up and tie breaker needed to do just that represent the SBC in NO - that simple really. So, yes we need to stop and look at what the SBC has in it's by-line and it CLEARLY supports Co-Champion which it did last year, like it or those are the fatcs. Tryo & MTSU are the SBC Co-Champions, with the same 6-1 records - period, hard to argue with the by-lines of the conference.
