There is still room for improvement and ULL should prove to be a great challenge.
Unfortunately the weather had a say in the attendance tonight, which turned out to be a great night for football. Lets make up for it next week - where we will need all the butts in the seats for ULL.
Great win.
Go Owls!!

Hey, my estimate of 5,000-6,000 was pretty damn close. My guess is they are announcing actual attendance and not the final "paid" number. My guess is that the paid number will be somewhere around 15,000, like what FIU announced for its 1st 2 home games, even though there were probably just a few thousand in the stadium.
Actually, an actual attendance of 6,400 is an improvement. In year's past it has been closer to 4,000 in the stadium for most games. It needs to be much bigger Wednesday, but this was a start. The student turnout was a major improvement over most games last year, so hopefully it grows every week. Everyone that is on campus this week must get the word out that we need to fill the stadium for the national broadcast, not to mention that it is a pretty critical Sun Belt game.

I can't figure out why some schools have a problem with the ATF at football games and others (usually with much more tradition) don't. I saw 500 police around the USC game and not one of them even looked at an ID at any of the tailgate spots I saw but when I went to USF a few years back they had a magistrate set up in a trailer they were sending kids in and were actually making underagers choose a plea, guilty/not guilty=go to jail, no contest=go back and hang out with your friends and come back for court date, hefty fines and community service. The city must have made a fortune that day! Maybe most of the cops are USC fans up in Colombia so they don't bother, who knows.
VERY fired up for Wednesday!!!

You should have seen the Wellington High Homecoming game Friday night - probably 50-plus cops, two walk-through metal detectors and bag searches of everyone. The sheriff's office chopper hung over the field for almost the entire game (imagine the cost of that) - drowning out the band and part of the homecoming queen crowning.
The homecoming parade on Greenview Shores Blvd. was canceled (moved to around the track at halftime) - all because of an anonymous call about a planned shooting.
