Tailgating Options

Post

Hello FAU fans.  Hope all is well.  My wife and I go to every Marshall game and we are looking forward to this weekend.  At any rate, we like to tailgate and was wondering if you can give any insight on where the best place would be?  We will need room for a tent, tables, tv, grill etc etc.  Any help would be appreciated.  There will be 10-15 of us there.

Welcome to the forum!

I will let the others chime in on location options, but get there early if you have that many folks in your party……..

Last game was packed in the north lot.

the parking lot northeast of the stadium, which is the parking lot for Palm Beach State College, usually has plenty of room....

I guess my question is do the lots you guys are talking about allow tents behind the parked vehicles?  I'm looking forward to the trip and hope to have some adult beverages with some of you guys.

I have not been to a game this year yet, but we will be there saturday with a group of about the same size.  In the past I have either parked over by our arena/track, or by the education building.  I can't tell you what lot numbers they are but I enter through the western entrance on glades road (The main entrance to the campus) and proceed to the back towards the cash lots.  If you get lucky, there are a decent amount of spots in both lots that back right up to grassy areas where you can set up and do whatever.  If you are forced to park in the middle of the lots, the security guys in the past have been pretty lax about tailgate set ups.  We had a problem at the first game, but after that it was not an issue at all.

Lots open 4 hrs prior to kickoff, and we will be waiting to get in at 1 pm.

One of the other guys can maybe provide some more up to date info as mine is all from my experiences last year.

Thanks for the info duder.  As long as I get a spot where I can set up the others coming can park anywhere and walk to the tailgate.

The lot Duder explained is is where our basketball area sits, coming off of I-95 (which I assume you will be) take the first entrance on Glades Rd on university dr, there are big signs for it, and then drive in as far as you can go for the cash lots, parking where it says "the Burrow" is the bball arena. You'll be able to see the track complex from that lot as well.

The North Lots are a little trickier to get to, but they are a closer walk to the stadium. At glades and 95 make your first left on to Airport Rd, it wraps around (and merges with Spanish river blvd) to the back of FAU (the north side) and you can enter at FAU Blvd and drive in to the north lots.

Both are fine for setting up tents in the lot and having a good time, you'll enjoy yourself and welcome to Boca raton!
