Texas Trip Recaps

OK some songs that the band will always play:

FAU Fight Song
Red and Blue (kind of like a second fight song, where at the end of it we shout F—A—U—Fight fight fight)
Lets Go Owls!

FAU Offense
FAU Defence  (These 2 songs are from Lord of the Rings but we have say F-A-U Goooooo Owls during defence)

FAU Alma Mater (I believe this is the sad song you are talking about. We play it at the end of EVERY game and it has words to it too! *hint hint learn them* It would also be nice if the team would stop by and stand there while we play it. Thats what the Texas team did at the end of that game.)

Most of the time we also play Apache (Jump on it) and there will be more stands tunes added during the year.

Ants Marching was part of one of our half time shows last year so we probably wont be playing it again this year (especially since that was our travel show and we performed it a lot!)

Our half time show for this first home game is an 80's Hair band show! Its going to be awesome so you guys should stick around and watch it during half time.

As a side note, it would be cool if we had a strong identifiable tune, like how some schools play the Imperial March at their games… I still would love to see Metallica's "Enter Sandman" play before the team bursts out of the inflatable helmet and we could all clap along with the kick of the drum beat. At 0:55, when the guitar bursts in, that's when the team can run out.

It would be even better at night games. The lights could go dim, new red and blue lights could sweep the stadium as people are clapping and the dry ice shoots out by the helmet. Then at 0:55 team runs out and all the lights flash quickly or just come on brightly.

Think about it.

You are right, Owlcountry. First, "Enter Sandman" is one of U of Miami's songs. So I don't suggest using that. Second, the lights can't flicker. They are high-wattage bulbs that could take up to 10 to 20 minutes to turn back on.

And the smoke out of the tunnel (are they still doing that?) is fire extinguishers.

But I do agree with you about the entrance and the music.

I wouldn't mind it being one of the FAU hip-hops songs that were created by Hoot Recordings.
