i think the MTSU incident, the fact we had two starters go down with identical injuries, and the fact that Omar was injured in the same fashion last year, are all fueling the fire. do i think it was intentional? yes. am i going to make a big deal out of it? no. there is no way to know what was going through the player's head when he dove into the pile. he may have been planning on taking Jamie out, he may have simply been trying to insure Hampton went down. I can't say he did either for sure, no one can. I have my opinion just like everyone on BOTH of our boards do. let's just drop the whole argument. No one is going to change the others' opinion. agreed?
Well I agree that people are not going to change their opinions, but your opinion is absurd. There is not one shred of truth to the allegation that our players are out there intentionally out to hurt the opposing team. I for one find these allegations offensive. First of all you have no evidence to your theory. You have mention 3 incidents in 3 separate games. You can find 3 of any team's games in which an opponent gets hurt and say you see a trend. Then look at the video so many of your fans say is proof of a cheap shot…THERE IS NOTHING DIRTY IN THAT PLAY! Slow any play down and it will look worse then it is in full speed. It is a routine football play that happens multiple times in a game. This time the QB fell awkwardly and got hurt. I'm sorry it happened, but that type of thing happens in a football game. The QB injury last year also happened on a routine play, and your guy was able to come back into the game.
We have received our share of personal fouls for late hits and whatnot, but every team does. That stuff happens in the heat of the game. You can see three plays as reason to call our players dirty, but I have been to every home game in our program's history. I have traveled to a handful of games. I have watched every possible road game on TV. When in school I worked for the Athletic department and know people who work for the program. I KNOW that this program has NEVER played dirty or hurt any one intentionally. So you come here and complain about three plays where players unfortunately were hurt and call us dirty, but you are dead wrong. The fact that you think I or anyone of the other good posters on this board would support that type of behavior is insulting. If I went to your board and called your players thugs or dirty, insinuated that they are only out to injure the other team, and that your coach is an old drunk coaching his players to "take out" the opposition, you'd take offense to that too.

There was not one thing intentional about that play.
Not one.
You run the spread, you run the risk of getting seriously injured as a QB - bottom line.
Especially when you are not Tim Tebow - a QB in a FB body to offset the pounding…….
And you better believe Tebow got banged up. A lot. He also needed painkiller shots to his shoulder before each game.

Re: Thank you FAU
It's always something whether they lose or win they need to find fault with FAU & when the press & yes the MTSU beat writers are hyping it up too.
There has been some extra shoving after the plays, it shows the frustration & one of the biggest reasons we are where we are today - undisciplined & unfocused individuals. Some of the players have not been smart on the field, but does it mean they are dirty - NO.
Like Talon said, I saw a couple of worse hits on some of our players, one that was very close to being a horse collar on Rusty getting slammed to the ground, & one where a Troy player practically ripped the head of one of our players with a face mask infraction that was never called - the player had to leave the game.
If you go back an look at those incidents I can bet those two plays look far worse then the one on the Troy QB & are closer being "dirty plays" then the one on the QB. And you don't see any Owl fans complaining Troy of being a dirty team.

like i said, we all have our opinions. i feel that the video tells the truth, you all feel it shows nothing. we're not going to agree, so let's just drop it. i also disagree with the Sun Belt Conference apologizing, that was spineless. if Troy felt it needed to apologize, it would have. Waters getting involved just provides further evidence that he is a poor leader for our conference. we need a new man at the helm to lead the 'Belt to the next level.
The SBC had to apologize because it failed to proof read something that was made public that included an unsubstantiated claim against one of it's members players. The only thing spineless in this whole thing is Troy's SID using his forum to make an accusation of this nature. If the Troy coaching staff thought there was something dirty about the play, then the coaches should have brought it up to the media, or more appropriately to the SBC. Neither of which happened. Instead, either on his own or at the request of the team, the SID includes the accusation against a college kid in a forum that would get out to the public. That to me is spineless.
But, I do agree that this arguement is getting old and it's time to move on.
