I think the quote from the article that states that FAU players "are not coachable" is unfortunately fairly accurate at this point. The guys have had far too many penalties and seem to be playing without any type of accountability. The whole first quarter of the Troy game was one penalty after another. Unless the coaches get this team back on track that quote might just sum up the season.

Exactly.  Losing skews everyone's view of a team.  Six games ago, we had great players and Coach Schnellenberger was a genius.  A 1-5 record later and Coach is losing it, all our players suck, they are uncoachable, and a bunch of troublemakers.

It is not about losing. It is about the bad mistakes and the personal fouls that we are committing.

I've watched sports long enough to know…It is ALL about losing.  If we were winning and still committing personal fouls, those "stupid plays" would be looked at as playing "smash-mouth" football.  Winning cures a lot of ills.  The problem is that this year we haven't played well enough to overcome the penalties, drops, etc. and when that happens, the mistakes just stand out that much more.

I have to disagree. Getting flagged for 15 yarders all over the field is not considered smash-mouth football even if a team is winning. With all due respect I grew up in BIGTEN country, the heart of smash-mouth football, and 15 yarders never were viewed as just playing hard. Whether winning or losing there is no excuse for a complete lack of discipline. I think in this case all of loses lead to frustration which in turn leads to players losing their heads. My point is that losing is not an excuse for a lack of discipline.

If that was intentional then he should have done that on the Trojans 1st possession. Why let them score a few times and then take cheap shot!?!

I have to stand up to ignorance when I read it, and if this is the sentiment felt by most Troy fans then I am convinced Alabama is made up of a bunch of foolish rednecks.

But I realize that not all Troy fans feel like that.

But seriously dude, it was not a bad hit. Coaches around the country teach players to go until the whistle. So while something like this is unfortunate, you have to realize that 1) it was a late game occurrence and 2) it is football and serious injuries happen.

i just watched the game…..no wku game so i highlighted the troy game……it wasnt a dirty hit…..if i was on the field i would have to say i would have done the same thing…..

Whine and cry all you want Troy fans……good luck today against a sleeper (FIU), i hope you dont underestimate them, cause there playing good ball right now
