Not really enthusiasm, more optimistic. The new O styl;e will help almost any qb be better as it, to me, is much simpler.
Like I have said, I personally hope Wilbert starts the Wagner game and they use Curtis and German some too. I want us to run more on an young, undersized D anyhow. Our backs are quicker this year too!
THEN, vs. MTSU, release the Beast (MGIII) and the passing game on a young, inexperieced D (especially the DB's!). Let MTSU see us run all over Wagner and get little to see of our passing attack before the game up there. Then, BLOW EM AWAY!
That is my vision but not sayin that will happen - great vision though! Our Owls start 2-0 going into Athens and UGA!
Believe it or not, I have said this before too.
Let's blow through Wagner without the aid of MG3, and then spring him on the Belt out of nowhere. Have mtsu burnt to a crisp by the time MG3 is done with them.
But I digress also, this will not happen.
MG3 will be our starter this season if we want to go bowling, that is plain and simple.

Of course through our few twitter updates FAU will make all 3 qbs look good.
Nailed it on the head. None of the tweets are controversial, as we've seen. It wasn't for Dieter's tweets like, "Freshman WR Chris Gilchrist found himself in Pelini’s doghouse. 'Shut the f*** up!' Pelini yelled seven or eight times" or the story about Duron Carter being excused from campus for 5 minutes, you'd believe that we're a perfectly oiled machine.
Sure, we've gone to a spread, and maybe Graham Wilbert will be Quarterback Of The Year in the new offense. Curtis too, since he ran it in high school. It's possible.
But not likely, from what we've seen. Not at all likely. Objectively, these guys weren't any good last year. That's not a personal attack on either quarterback - that's a fact. FAU did not complete a pass for more than 50 yards last year. We did not have offensive production through the air. I can't credit a QB for handoffs; that's a joke. A QB gets credit for passes and runs. We did not do that well all year long even when our practice reports, both pre-season and intra-season, said "Graham Wilbert completes a pass to so-and-so for X yards" or "Curtis with a Z yard run up the middle for a TD." Sounds great, get to the game, choke the game away and get ranked as the worst offensive team in the country.
That happened. We currently live in a time when FAU and FIU have switched their rightful places in the college football landscape.
Now MG3 comes to us as a two-time JUCO All-American. He averaged 346.8 yards passing per game, 21 passing TDs, 6 running TDs. Even if he had SEC-level people all around him at JUCO, and that would be generous, the man still moved the ball. That's a fact. He moved the ball and scored on a college defense, against some people who are going to go off and play for BCS teams… maybe even national championship teams.
So why would I be excited about Wilbert starting? Why would I want anybody under center other than the guy who has proved he can score consistently?

+1 . There were several fundamental issues with these QB's that should have been dealt with before they made a D1 roster. The only thing we can hope for (if MG3 can't start) is that these QB's have better coaching and guidance from the new staff to correct these many issues…..or it's gonna be another long season.
