give up on the season? nope way to many seniors who have been waiting for their chance if we want another owl in the league we have to let them play

What?! Just because your a senior, it doesn't mean you deserve playing time. Coach needs to do what's best for the program.

If we don't give the young guns playing time now, next year we will be starting several inexperienced players at key positions (WR, TE, QB, DB DL, LB, K).

We have a losing season this year because we have too many inexperienced players starting.

Re: The state of our program

Lets all remember that without Alfred Morris's fumble with 3:30 left vs ULM thats most likely a win and if Rob Housler catches that ball vs. UNT that is most likely a win.  We are 2 bad plays from 3-2 and they were both made by players with a lot of experience.

The coaches fault is not having OLineman more prepared to reload with.  With the stability of our program their is no reason to have this green of an OLine.

Good points Walty…

(Morris did fumble, but we got it back…the botched snap is what did us in)

Anyway, to agree with your O-line comment in partiality, here's something to chew on:

We lost our starting center, Ryan Wischnefski, out of the blue after his junior year because he graduated and could not progress further in his field here - BIG LOSS.

We then lost Niblack, a very athletic starter and likely the best overall lineman we have, on top of that due to grades.

We then lost Sessa, Wischnefski's replacement, for the year.

That is three of your top lineman gone with one fell swoop.

Of course Fans forget all of this when they see a donut in the win column in conference play…but just saying.

On a side note:

We lost arguably what would have been our second best WR, Jamal Davis, who just up and decided to leave.

Am I saying we would have won more games with all of the above playing, no. But it sure would not have hurt in any way shape or form…

Good points Rick.

Overall, this is college football and you are always going to have groups whether it be the secondary or Oline that dont have a lot of expeirience based on everybody leaving after 4 years (or sometimes shorter).  This season is like any other in FAU's history….a bounce here and there is the difference between a good season and a bad one.

Niblack needs to get his grades together.

No way we shouldn't be 3-2 right now.  I think we would be if Coach had just let 'em try for the TD on 4th and goal at Detroit.  I hate to say it, but this season basically ended right there.

If a bad coaching decision in Detroit caused us to lose to NT and ULM, then we need to go get some players who have more pride and heart.  That's ridiculous.

There are bad coaching decisions on every team in every game.  There are errors by players on every team, every game.  Real players will move on and not whine and cry.  I think the whole thing is just an excuse, really.

So if what you are saying is correct, I agree, it is Coach's fault–for recruiting players with no pride.

I don't disagree with you that it is, don't get me wrong.  Just pointing out there's a clear difference between the team we saw for first 117 game minutes this season, and the one we've seen since The Blunder.  The talent isn't where it needs to be, no question.  But the emotion has really been lacking since the bad decisions in Detroit and the comments afterward (thanking them for not running up the score?? wtf??).

That had me wishing the guy who had the fortitude to say Texas "isn't tough" would return—-it was so unlike Howard to wave the white flag like he did in Detroit.  Given the choice between the subdued guy we have this year and the blustery, fiery guy who used to say "time is the only variable" when talking about championships, well, that guy was a lot more inspiring.

If your the best player at your position you deserve to play…Van Camp is the best player at his position he deserves to play…Jean, Housler, Polo, Hill, Lockley, etc are the best players at their positions and happen to be seniors they deserve to play…we should focus on winning this year we aren't even bowl ineligible we have played five games thats it
