Thursday, Oct. 8th Practice Notes...

FAU used Thursday's practice as another opportunity to develop the younger players.

Practice began with kick and kick return, the first and second team members then moved into individual work which was followed by the inside drill and team work. The one’s and two’s then were dismissed and full attention was turned to player development. The younger players went through the paces, for more than an hour, of situational drills.

The Owls will return to the practice field 3:30 p.m. Friday. Practice is free and open to the public.

Take the redshirts off the GOOD and FAST younger guys and get them into action. If nothing else on special teams and it will boos our depth. Also, if an prospective recruit knows he can play as a true freshman, WE WLL GET BETTER RECRUITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is one of the biggest problems with FAU….we use our scrubs on special teams when other teams like UF put all their star players on special teams.  Let's just say that it shows…

"Meyer, UF's special-teams coordinator, prides himself not only on fielding some of the best special-teams units in the nation but also instilling a locker-room culture that demands respect for special-teams contributors. Entrenched starters beg to be on the punt-block and field-goal-block teams. Not coincidentally, UF led the Southeastern Conference in 2008 with nine blocked kicks."

You can steal games with good special teams play, or lose them. Guess which camp we are usually in?
