The reality of the whole thing is that it will cost between $750 and $1,000 to go to the game after parking at the airport, flying to N.O., renting a car, hotel room, ticket to the game, all the meals, out drinking and partying…that is a lot of money to spend around Christmas or to expect people to spend anytime for that manner.  Every other bowl game seems to be in Florida, how did we end up in one that is a 12 hour drive away?

Lots of reasons:
1. too far to travel to a game, we could barely get people to G ville for the national champs
2. too close to xmas
3. economy
4. didn't shore up bowl till last game of season - didn't leave much time to prepare
5. school has no experience in putting togeather a travel pkg for something like this
6. not enough media exposure, barely mentioned on the local news - no mention on espn
7. many so fla people need to stick close to home to watch the dolphins beat the pats on the 23rd…

And there's only one FIRST bowl game in our program's history…I was at Slippery Rock and I'll be at NO, no matter the cost.

Most of those excuses will be here every year, regardless of conference and record.

what's the latest?? how many tickets have sold in total - counting the buses, etc??

Except Slippery Rock was MUCH CHEAPER and not near Christmas…..I really wish I could go, I'm just jealous Teambeer

Thats great stuff… One of my buddies just named his son William Donivan, his daughter got off, but he tried to slip a spurier in on her middle name, guess u can tell he is a gator nut… I have heard like a dozen stories about people namming their dogs tebo too..
