Titans Take Jake Locker

Heck Jab what do I know? I thought Tolzien looked great at the combine  ;D. Just not convinced that beyond Gabbert and Newton, that Locker was a first rounder.

Haha hey ya never know. You could be right all along. I don't think Newton will be good but who knows what will happen

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

"In other Titans news, Reinfeldt said he liked second-year QB Rusty Smith, but not necessarily as a starter ('He could be a pretty good darn backup for a while,' Reinfeldt said in comments that I’m sure Smith would LOVE to read)."

Re: Titans Take Jake Locker

Gotta take that as a challange and prove him wrong! Locker ain't there salvation, he is very mediocre IMHO and the way he likes to run and take on tacklers (Mr. competetive) he will get hurt soon enough. Rusty, get smart and be ready because you will be in there again when Locker is benched or hurt.

Re: Titans Take Jake Locker

I get the feeling that Titans coaches believe in Rusty's apptitude to play the position. What he hasn't proven, is the ability to lead the team on the field. What strikes me is when he had to go in at the end of the Washington game, he seemed more relaxed, and more confident passing the football. He might be a "low ceiling" guy, like a lot of scouts were leary of. If so, the Titans will focus on making him a game-managing type of qb. There is nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't necessarily win a starting job.

I still think he got hosed last season – IMHO. Really got the vibe that Fisher was trying to prove a point (VY injury or not), and unfortunately Big Red got caught in some crossfire.

Yup, on a team that totally quit on the coaches. Let's not forget the stellar game Mr. Johnson had that day too!

Completely agree with you ProudOwl!  I would also like to add (unfortunately) that Jake Locker will not be a BUST!  When healthy, Jake Locker is one of the premier college QB's of the last few years!  He has everything needed to compete in the NFL; which means that (unfortunately) Rusty will be a back-up from here–unless Jake gets injured!!!

Re: Titans Take Jake Locker

Jake Locker reminds me of Rex Grossman. I just don't see it. But only time will tell.  :)
