I agree with the earlier comment about webcasts. From afar, I had two choices: The SUU broadcast (very weak announcers), which was free or the FAU broadcast (good announcers), which cost me $6.95. It's not the amount of money. That's about the price of a beer and a half at a stadium. It's the idea. For a university that still is trying to build a fan base, why make it difficult? I have a difficult time believing that whatever percentage of that money gets kicked back to FAU outweighs the value of building a more solid fan base. If we had an established program, that's one thing….but we don't. I remember checking the radio station's site in the past and discovering I could get a streaming version of some guy named Rev. Spurgeon's sermon, but not the Owls game. Personally, I prefer Dave Lamont.

Also, I think all of you who made it to the game should get medals. The weather and traffic problems described elsewhere on this board remind me of one of the reasons I like the mountains – wait for a bear or something to cross in front of you, then the road is clear. Re the cheering: Not sure what that's about, but I think everyone who paid and showed up should be welcome, not discouraged. Of course, I was sitting 1,200 miles away….listening to my paid webcast.

I agree microphone guy has to go or be replaced. If we replace him we need someone with a more masculine voice.

Something interesting. I sit in section 105 and during some 3rd downs I started chanting defense with some older fans and some people around me. A group sitting between my row and a row in front of me that were cheering the guys on started giving us dirty looks and holding their ears.

Can't believe that.

Oh, and I realized my brain fart of saying FAU was at .500, season feels awfully long right now to me.

If he's getting the crowd fired up over there then let him keep going. He'll get better with time. Someone should tell him when certain chants are appropriate though. De-fense is one of those 3rd down, get the crowd fired up sorta things. He was trying to get people to do it on SUU's first play from scrimmage at times.

otherwise, good times as always, happy for a win and hopefully people come out next week!

Any cheering, any students activity should be encouraged.

Dirty looks? Tell them to ….

I think that the crowd participation is improving every game, all we can do and is keep cheering and the others will get involve and take part eventually.

The guy on the field PA was "$mitty", the head of the prOWLers.

Wish it would have been a shutout but all take two W's in a row.

Moving the student section/band to them visitor sideline makes sense. However I'm sure athletics wouldn't do that because they can sell seats on that side for more then the end zone. Having a budget out of the red looks better then a full sideline to athletics. Plus if they moved the band out of the end zone we wouldn't be able to dodge field goals anymore (10 points if they hit a tuba, 20 for a clarinet, -50 if we catch it :D)

The rain sucked but you cant do anything about that….unless the university built some type of, oh I donno…dome? ::)

Hope to see you guys from the field on Weds night.

How was the student section with cheering? They used to make noise when we had the ball and were quiet when we were on defense.

$mitty has his heart in the right place, but he's a little wacky. He needs to be out on the field, firing the folks up from there, not on the PA.
