I agree! Rather make owl fingers, then my hands in the shape of a "U". I love the owl fingers and I know it's in the hand book that's given to the incoming freshman every year. If you were at the BBall game tonight and looked over at the student section you would see a good majority of them making Owl fingers.

Plenty of school use hand signals

USF/Texas - the 2 fingered Bull

Miami - the "U"

Florida - Gator Chomp

FSU - Tomahawk Chop

Those are just off the top of my head, I'm sure there's plenty of others if I cared enough to look it up

The FSU tomahawk motion is pretty cool.

The Tomahawk chop is probably the only thing that doesn't look dumb.

If only a few hundred people do it, anything looks dumb.  A single FSU fan in a sports bar doing the chop by him or herself looks pretty funny.
Once we figure out what FAU fans do and eventually get 10s of thousands doing it, whatever we decide will look great!!
What will our music be though, the chop, chomp, and U all have specific band music?

I think the owl fingers look good, it is becoming a natual traditon that has gained some traction.

You can't manufacture traditions, you start them and see if they catch on but you can't force them.

I wish the whole student section  would turn their backs when the opposing players are introduced, in Wisconsin they turn their backs and read the paper.

The band has always turned their backs and some students do and others don't. I remember students also used to get the UP and put that up when other team's players were being introduced. That may be my personal fav.
