Travel to Lincoln

Post

It’s my last year at FAU and I am thinking about traveling to Lincoln for the Nebraska game on August 30th.  One of my best friends from high school plays for the huskers and would like to make the game. I was wondering if anyone on here knew if FAU would be offering a student travel package for the game. They had one available for the Miami game last year and it was a good deal.  My reason for asking is that I was looking up prices and its get pricey relatively quickly. What I came up with was: fight into Omaha $313 less tax, shuttle ride to Lincoln (there are a couple of services but no one puts prices online) let’s say 40 bucks, hotel at the Hyatt $127/a night, and then ticket to the game $80ish.  I would be splitting the hotel 4 ways so that makes it for 2 nights $63.50.  Throw in food and other random expenses and I would easily be looking at over $500 with tax. So in short I was wondering if FAU had a history of student travel packages for away games, I tried looking FAU websites but came up with nothing.  It would be great to see a couple hundred or so students at the game but I dont know what the interest is from the rest of campus.

No dice on a student trip, and Athletics is not hosting a Fan trip either.

Look on Trivago for the hotel, you can likely do better…Also, game tickets should not cost you $80, that is high…unless you need/want to sit in a specific section.

I think you're underestimating your transfer cost.  Omaha is an hour from Lincoln.  Doesn't your friend have someone who could grab you from the airport for a 12 pack of beer?  How about crashing with your friend to save some $$$?  His dorm or apartment should be empty Friday night since teams will usually stay off campus even for home games.

Just some thoughts for you to try and do this cheaper on a college kids budget.
