Trey Rodriguez Dismissed from FAU Football Team

Post

GM ALL
I wanted to say thanks again for those who are encouraging not only my son TREY but any kid out there that makes mistakes. Talking negative doesn't help. We have all made mistakes and it is true that it takes a village to raise a child.  Oc seems to make waves as he talks like a disappointed COACH. I believe in prayer and I ask God to bless those who have encouraged my son to do better.  Your comments and or compliments are appreciated and under no circumstances  WE THE POSITIVE PEOPLE will not allow your negativity to affect anybody.

OC
Every kid that plays football wishes for a super bowl and if you played you would know that it is the ultimate dream come true.

Twitter?  Really dude? come on .. 80% of the comments are for showboat. On the other hand I do understand that perception is everything and that is a struggle with the kids these days. They are from a new era and if they say something wrong, Funny, or stupid then they get 1 million followers. I'm not justifying just stating facts.

Its time to move on and see if we can make this situation better. I wish the best for the FAU family and I'm still a fan.

                          Someday

 ……everything will make perfect sense….
So, for now, laugh at the confusion,
smile through the tears and keep reminding yourself that….

                    EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON

Thanks for your outstanding support

    OC … LOVE YA BROTHER

Hector Rodriguez

OCI…I don't know why you feel the need to critique my posts. Let me once again explain what you don't understand. Lets look at the facts, he is a very good football player and he was dismissed from the team. He does not need to prove that he is a good ball player. But whatever was the reason for the dismissal, I think we can all agree, needs improving. Prove to himself and others that the problem has been resolved. I hope I simplified it enough for you OCI.

Other than quoting your post, I don't see where I "critiqued" anything you said.  I feel bad for Trey, I feel like he could really use a good mentor in his life.  He has not been setup for success.  And I mean beyond the football field.  Sorry for ruffling your feathers.

Bottom line here is best of luck to Trey, I think we all hope you get things going in a good way, just wish we could have seen him play his entire College career as an Owl!

Hector, I honestly do hope that Trey can turn it around.  But, you said something interesting about perception.  Perception is everything.  I used to work for a very large company and was heavily involved in the mentoring and performance evaluation of new hires, primarily college kids starting their first professional jobs.  I told them that perception is always more important than reality.  If a boss or supervisor sees you come to work 15 minutes late or leave 10 minutes early or sees you texting on your phone during business hours.  The perception is that they are not hard workers.  Doesn't matter that the person is a super star and they can get done in 6 hours that someone else takes 10 hours.

My perception of Trey is every other tweet is chasing the dollar $$; he had a division 1 scholarship now he is at a community college.  Whatever the reasons were, I hope he realizes he's not getting a second chance its his 3rd minimum.  Tell him good luck, don't worry about the SEC or PAC12 or whatever, if its an academic issue, use every single resource that school offers.  Make sure he uses them, and not the other way around.  Final comment, RB's have the shortest life.  GET THE DEGREE!   I will say the one thing that does come through his twitter is that he loves his daughter.  Good luck and thank you for being positive towards FAU with this difficult situation.

Hector, congrats. From one dad to another ,I tip my hat to you. The single most important thing you can do is support your kid. Kids growing up today are very different then when I,an almost old guy, grew up. Thank god there was no social media or phone cameras. Trey knows what he needs to do. He fell down and needs to get up, brush himself off, and keep moving forward. I for one could give a darn about perception. That is someone else's opinion. What matters is what you a currently doing. Give Trey a hug and kick him in the butt when he needs it. Best of luck to you and Trey. Who knows, our paths may cross again.God Bless buddy.

Oc…

So what??? He is chasing his dreams and taking different avenues to get this accomplished. He hit a bump on the way there. You are still stuck on tweets…… TOO FUNNY.  :Big-Grin:  :Big-Grin:  :Big-Grin: I can tell you this he didn't get kicked off the team for Grades. Perhaps you are close to Charlie and he can tell you because I'm not blasting him on here.  I hope this clears the Air. Trey is a smart and he knows what he got to do both his parent are professional Wrestlers… LOL Just kidding   :Yawn2:

A smile a day will keep the boogie monster away!

@ local OWL …Thanks and God Bless you all
