I don't know his record before the gun incident. All I can say is that in this day and age any type of gun incident is nothing to make light of.

As for Williams, no doubt he did some stupid #$%* but I don't recall anything quite as serious as bringing a gun into a highschool classroom.

The gun was in a car. Not the school. Principal saw it called the cops that's it.  He has no offenses before this. He will certainly be on a short leash, but Troy may be the best place for him. It's alot different than inner city Atlanta.

As for the argument… guys, chances are some of our players are packin' heat too.

In all honesty there is no telling how many guys do these things and don't get caught. I did some pretty stupid things in high school myself.

Blakeney has a good record of rehabbing problem children. Some, like Williams, he will not chance.

The coach checked out this player by talking to family, friends and former coaches, including at Oklahoma.

The kid will step up or be gone. It's his choice. If he falters, he will be gone. Fast.

BTW, it is still not clear whether this guy will be able to play this year but he is practicing with the Trojans.
