I am sure that tickets will become available when we get closer to the season. However, I doubt that FAU was given more than 2,000-3,000 tickets. If home games for FAU only draw 6,000-10,000 fans I realistically don't see more than a few hundred fans going to Gainesville for the game.
GO OWLS!!!
*DING*…….
It will all depend on how well we come into the game…If we are able to knock off an OOC opponent and gain some media momentum, i would say the game will be heavily attended by UF fans…and more people might also travel as well…still TBD if it gets picked up by TV, but i would say it will…

You make a good point that it all depends on FAU's success leading up to the game. If FAU is playing well and notches a non-conf. upset or two, this game will draw more fans and it will be more meaningful. Otherwise UF students will watch the game from home where they can flip between this and other games.

IMO, the athletic department had to make a very difficult decision, probably expecting an above average demand for away tickets, they know how many fans travel and figured the UF game to be a bigger draw in general. So, they bought X amount of tickets giving the Season ticket holders & Owl Club members first option to buy tickets and depending how many are taken the rest will be made available to students - thus a shortage of tickets exist if the athletic departed only bought a small amount of tickets with the consideration that we have yet, traveled over 1,000 fans to an away game.
This should be the biggest attended away game by Owl Fans by far and makes it hard to gauge how many fans will make the trip based on pass attended away games.
The athletic department must be realistic when buying these tickets.

It wouldn't be realistic to buy more than 1000 tickets. I have been to road games with fewer than 100 FAU fans (most notably MTSU). I know that Gainesville is more feasible in terms of travel, however I really do not see more than 500-700 people making the trip. I could be wrong, but I think the Athletic Department is playing it on the safe side and I agree with them doing so.

Playing MTSU is not that much of a draw to led me to say "lets go on a road trip." However playing the defending national champions that's a completely different kind off draw even if we get blown out. I have no idea how many people are going, however as a current student I have tons of friends up at UF so I'm gonna make a trip out of it.

True, it is a different kind of draw and it is closer and most likely will get more than 100 fans. However, I don't think that more than 1000 will FAU fans will attend the game.
