Re: .

Even BCS team that are ranked in the top 25 get blown-out… it happens to the best of them (probably each and ever Saturday).

The team earned some valuable expereince which will pay dividend come conference play when the games actually matter.

The players now know that they most continue to work & prepare harder for the next game.  I would have like for more offensively…Nebraska will probably prove to be the best defense we will face all season with South Carolina being the next best…good defenses can make good offense look bad.

Re: .

My turn, I did the same thing Exit did…I'm in NYC at a Nebraska watch party and after the first drive of the second half, I had to leave.  Nebraska fans all thought that Harmon had a TD and that the ground caused to go lose, I did as well. They were nice and were having some roots for us.  They fell in love with Keegan Peterson.

-Rusty didn't look like a NFL QB, I hope he knows the only points that were put on the board was lead by his back up.  That would be a message enough for me.

-Yea O-line did do a good job.  How many false starts were there?

- At one point the Nebraska fans were wondering why we just didn't go for it on 4th down, any outcome would not been worse than Keegan Peterson punt and I agreed.

Yea we can sit here and take the positives away from the game, say Morris and Rose were great, but that does us no good, thats mothering, nurturing, whatever else you want to call it, i sure the greats were all reared like that was able defend themselves looking at things at a positive perspective

"Hey great fight, great win!"
Ali: "Yea, I should have knocked him out in the first round."

"Hey Chad Johnson you had two TDs with 180 yards receiving"
Johnson: "Yea, but I also had two drops."

These guys push themselves to be great, and no matter the outcome, win or lose, they work on the bad, now I ain't saying that our guys aren't working on the bad, but I am tired of these blow out games and people find the good and talk about it, its time someone start really pushing these guys, picking on them, not just settling, because thats just good enough, no,  if you can do 10 pushups, than you do 15, if you can do 50 situps, than you do 60, and you keep pushin

"Sore Loser?!?! Tell you what, show me a Good Loser and I'll SHOW you a LOSER!!!"

Guys it seems that I was one of the lucky ones. I didn't get to see the game. However, I do agree with Exit. There is just to much hype surrounding a team that hasn't proved anything other than it got lucky two years ago and beat Troy to advance to the NO Bowl and that for whatever reason they go 6-6, finish third in the conference but receivers a bowl bid over the second place team.

Oh please.  Just because we haven't had success against BCS teams, we are a complete failure?  Because we lose to teams that are better then us on the road, everything else we have accomplished is meaningless?  That is ridiculous and it's an insult to those who have put in a lot of hard work to get this program to where we are today.  No, we haven't played well against BCS competition, and so what?  Name me the teams from non-BCS conferences that routinely compete with those schools?  There are plenty of teams that have been playing football far longer then we have that go into places like Nebraska, Florida, Texas, etc. and get beat down just like we have.  We all would like to see the Owls compete better and beat one of these BCS teams on the road, but if we don't, it doesn't change anything.  Our goal is to win OUR conference.

I agree, winning our conference is the #1 goal. On the other hand, for that to happen, we need for everyone to show up when its gametime. It was easy to see who showed up on Sat. Guys like Morris, Rose, Van Camp, etc. were ready to go. That doesn't mean if the whole team showed up, we were going to win. It means we need that to happen from game 1 to be able to win our conference and go to a bowl game. This team has to show some heart in SC or you can kiss our bowl chances goodbye.

Re: .

I think we need to go back to Rick's post and understand that we were not expecting to win and YES we still have a lot of work to do but that is why it happens at the beginning of the season so we can work out the kinks for when it matters.

I am not a fan of bringing in Van Camp in every 2nd quarter but after the way Rusty played I believe Rusty needs someone to start challenging him for the starting position… not that it will happen but let's have Vac Camp light a fire under his butt especially if he appears to be playing just as well or even better…

Why?  We showed nothing for the first 6 games last year and still went to a bowl game.  I'm not saying that that was an ideal situation…or even a good situation, but to say our season is over if we have another stinker in SC is just ridiculous.  We'd have 10 winnable games left to play.

Re: .

We were lucky as hell to go to that bowl game. we did not deserve it. We were lucky as hell to beat FIU and ASU who beat us didn't go. That was Howard pulling some strings. Its not like we travel great and sell a ton of tickets.

I agree with jv owl. Enough of this mommy crap. This isn't pop warner. Most guys on that offense are 22 years old. Time to step up. Till they do I don't think anyone should see any positives out of this game with the exception of a few individual performances.

I still why most people don't see the difference of losing by 14, 17 or 21 and by losing by 39. Not putting up any points by Rusty is what has me most ticked off about this game.

I think it could have been a lot worse if Nebraska turned it up the entire game.

Same for me, that is what is most upsetting. That our Offense couldnt score ONE touchdown. I EXPECT a team with this much experience playing together to be able to put up 17-21 points at least on anyone.

But how can you assume that?  And what will "playing with heart" look like?  What if they play with a lot of heart and still score 3 points?  I mean NC State only scored 3 points against SC…so if we only score 3 points again and lose we are done?

We played 6 crappy games last year and recovered.  I just would hate to see the Owls lose (or play another poor game against a BCS team) to SC and everyone jump off the bandwagon before we play our home opener.  Don't get me wrong, we need to see improvement from that last game…a lot of improvement…but if they go into SC and get blown out, the season is far from over.  We'd have 10 very winnable games and our entire conference schedule to play for.  THe result of the SC game is hardly a indication on how the rest of the season will go.
