German has been relieved of his scholly too. Maybe he can join kooi at Albany state, but I believe Bracewell is a lot better than that. Pretty ****** they waited till semester started and knocked him out of spring practice where ever he goes. Hope Johnson has what it takes cause Curtis could be leaving too.

This would put us in an even more precarious position at QB.

Now, if Bracewell has never started for us in all the time he's been here and if he's only got a year left, it might make more sense to just take out a loan and finish his degree.

Big owl trolls more than contributes, so wait until some verified sources say something about mg3, we all know that he's had it out for him since he got here anyway.

We dont know for sure that Nick was told his school isnt paid for any longer, dont listen to the troll. typically, when a coach decides that a kid just isnt gonna cut it they take their athletic scholly but will help them with the rest of school thats where the medical ineligibilty scholarship comes into play.

maybe grahams success last year gave nick some hope of a hybrid prostyle spread but if you look at the qbs weve recruited, he doesnt match, the writing was on the wall. Hard lesson to learn when you're 21, no doubt.

Bracewell has 2 years of eligibility left and is a pro style qb. Why wouldn't he go somewhere that he can play, finish his bachelors and get half of his masters paid for? He is young and has plenty of opportunity, unfortunately this year was wasted football wise.

 Nick obviously feels a sense of belonging to the program and his teammates. I just don't personally agree with walking away from your team no matter what. these guys are all here to bring a championship to FAU. I'm sure he and others who haven't started a game are working to prove themselves and see the field, stay with friends, and graduate.

Nick loves his teammates, FAU and Boca.  When they told him last May that he didn't fit the offense and would never see playing time, he was willing to stay on and work because he is loyal to his team.  Unfortunately, that changed when he was told his scholarship would most likely not be renewed last week.  These boys are up at 5am and working a full time job, even if it is called football.  He is a good student and doesn't miss practice or meetings.  I am sure however that when most people get notice of a layoff they have to find work somewhere else.  Not to many people can get up and work for free everyday.

Right though I don't think anybody's questioning that. It's not a question of devotion. He could be an absolute saint and the most loyal player to ever walk the Oxley, but the reality is that in all this time he's been here he's seen little to no game action.

From his point of view, he can take that as either… he's wasting his time or working on improving himself. He may think that we're now down to Curtis and Bracewell as the QBs who have been in the system the longest and by that virtue alone, he has his best chance ever of becoming the starter.

Yet from our point of view, as fans, all we know is that neither Schnellenberger nor Pelini thought Bracewell was the guy to lead the team. And it's not like he was in VanCamp's situation behind Rusty Smith; this season and last there was a legitimate open-ended race and Bracewell came in third both times. That's the thing. The media doesn't talk about him and the coaches don't go out of their way to point out his performance in practices, so as fans we had to operate on the idea that Bracewell must not be very good because if he was, we'd hear about it and he'd be starting.

So forgive us when big owl - now under a different name - claims that he's actually the best QB on the team and we're a little skeptical. It's not because we think Bracewell is a bad person or bad student-athlete because we don't know the guy.

And that's the main problem. We don't know the guy. But Pelini does and if this story is to be believed, he felt it's in the team's best interest to revoke his scholarship. That doesn't exactly bode well for "the best QB on the team" to be named starter in 2013.

Precisely! Only 2 points to be made here: 1. He didnt walk in and say "I quit " as the story relayed and 2. If he can go somewhere and have 2 more years of school paid for, which would get him half way through his masters AND play in a pro style offense, then how can anyone be surprised that he made that choice when given his options? And 2. Wouldn't most of us had made the same choice? I mean really one comment wants him to stay for the team, not play and pay for school….that's slightly ludicrous . But each to their own.

You are spot on. That is exactly what Buffalo did for Flutie. I heard Seattle is doing the same for Russell Wilson. In fact, it is well documented that he transferred from NC State to Wisconsin to be behind a shorter O-line.
